[NAVA HQ]
[Later That Day]
"Evan. I wasn't expecting to see you. Where is our Chief Operations Officer and the Head of Security?" Morgan asked calmly as he suppressed his murderous rage.
"Dead. They both died during the monster attack…they were both on the work floor when the attack happened."
"Lucky for them." Morgan said wrathfully.
He continued, "What is our status?"
"789 dead. Of these 531 were guards and the rest were workers and scientists. No damage to the mana crystal silos. Significant damage to the R&D section."
"What about the gate?"
"Unfortunately, the beast caused significant damage to the gate room. The gate is currently down. With the gate down, all communication with Avalor has been severed. Every server is offline at the moment." Evan said in a hushed voice.
"This is a disaster...how are we handling it? What are we saying to the public?" Morgan asked still retaining his calm demeanor.
"The official story is that NAVA detected a serious bug with the game expansion…we had no choice but to do an emergency worldwide server shutdown. As expected, the players are in an uproar but the story is holding…only a few key people know the truth and are remaining silent."
"Good. What about our backup site in Nevada? Have you contacted Kim?"
"Yes sir, Kim and her team are working at full capacity to get the backup site up and running. She says that it will be up by tomorrow."
"Good. Our top priority right now is restoring the game interface. Credibility and goodwill with the public and with the players are vitally important. The backup site can't produce a gate big enough to transport crystals but it is big enough to run network cables. We should be able to restore the game functions."
Morgan continued, "our next priority is to restore the primary gate. Without it, crystal distribution will grind to a halt. As soon as the backup site is running, have the mined mana crystals stored in Avalor tower. It was not designed to store large amounts of crystals but should be able to handle a weeks-worth of mining. What is our crystal reserve?"
"87 of the silos are full. We have enough reserves for 3 weeks…maybe 4 if we push back less important shipment orders." Evan answered as he looked at his notes.
"We need to restore the primary gate in two weeks. Whatever it takes. Get all our engineers working on this without rest. We will need to build safe-guards to ensure this doesn't happen again. Contact our architects as well…we will need to redesign the gate room."
Morgan added, "our third priority is damage control. Send an alert to all players, pay them 3x their daily rewards for today and tomorrow. In addition, let them know a 2x Nancoin event will happen in the near future…as soon as our primary gate is back online. That should help keep the crystal yield on target. Also get me our entire legal team here in one hour."
"Our legal team?" Evan asked. He had not considered the need to contact legal.
"Yes, the United States government along with three others have been desperately waiting for an opportunity to take control of our operation. They will use this incident to attempt a takeover. We must be ready."

[A HOTEL IN LUMINA CITY]
"Wain! Hey what happened? Are you guys ok?" Hector asked over the phone.
"Hector, no time to explain…please log into Avalor! I think Arthos is in trouble!"
"No can do. The servers are down." Hector replied nonchalantly.
"What? What do you mean? The servers are never down…in the 5 years of existence Avalor has never gone down!"
"Are you under a rock? Turn on the news. The servers are down everywhere. The players are getting ready to riot…what happened over there? What happened to Arthos?"
Wain replied, "that's going to be a long story. You better sit down for this…and get Percy on the line too, he will need to hear this."
