Synopsis
In one moment, the world changed. Billions of humans were transported to a mysterious world known as Aethernia—a vast land of five continents filled with ancient forests, powerful races, terrifying monsters, and endless opportunities. In this new world, every human becomes a Lord. Each Lord receives a territory, a Lord System, and the ability to summon citizens, build cities, raise armies, and compete with other Lords for dominance. But survival will not be easy. Resources are scarce. Monsters roam the wilderness. And the Lords themselves are not allies—they are rivals. War, alliances, betrayal, and conquest will decide who rises… and who disappears. Among the ten thousand Lords of Aethernia, Aren begins with nothing more than a small territory, two elf rangers, and a dangerous forest filled with predators. Yet Aren possesses something unique. A rare talent. Talent Copy. A mysterious ability that allows him to copy the talents of others—whether they belong to powerful Lords, gifted warriors, or extraordinary craftsmen. But power comes with risks. As Aren explores the secrets of Aethernia, he soon realizes that this world hides far more than monsters and rival Lords. Ancient races watch from the shadows. Forgotten civilizations lie buried beneath the land. And the Lord System itself may not be what it seems. With strategy, patience, and a growing army, Aren must turn a fragile territory into an unstoppable empire. Because in Aethernia… Only one truth matters. The weak Lords are eliminated. The strong Lords rule the world.

Chapter 1 – A Strange New World

Cold air brushed against Aren's face.

For a moment, he thought he was still dreaming.

His head felt heavy, and his body ached as if he had slept on hard ground for hours.

Slowly, he opened his eyes.

The first thing he saw was the sky.

It was vast, endless, and a pale shade of blue he had never seen before. Sunlight filtered through enormous tree branches above him, casting moving shadows across the forest floor.

Aren blinked several times.

"…What?"

His voice sounded hoarse.

He quickly sat up, heart pounding.

The ground beneath him was covered in soft moss and scattered leaves. Towering trees surrounded him in every direction, their trunks thicker than anything he had ever seen.

This was not a park.

This was not a forest near any city.

This place looked ancient.

Untouched.

A chill ran down his spine.

"Where the hell am I…?"

He stood up slowly, brushing dirt from his hands.

The air was incredibly fresh, filled with the scent of earth and wood. Somewhere in the distance, birds chirped in unfamiliar tones.

Nothing about this place felt normal.

Then it happened.

A mechanical voice suddenly echoed inside his mind.

[Welcome to Aethernia.]

Aren froze.

The voice didn't come from the forest.

It came from inside his head.

"…Who said that?"

His eyes darted around the clearing.

No one was there.

The voice continued, emotionless and calm.

[All humans have been transported to the world of Aethernia.]

[You have been selected as a Lord.]

The words appeared in glowing light in front of him, floating in the air like a holographic screen.

Aren stared at them.

"A Lord…?"

His first instinct was disbelief.

This had to be some kind of hallucination.

Or maybe he hit his head.

But the cool wind brushing his skin felt too real.

The rough bark of a nearby tree felt solid beneath his fingers when he touched it.

This wasn't a dream.

The voice spoke again.

[Initializing Lord System…]

Aren felt a faint pressure in his mind.

Then several lines of text appeared in front of him.

---

Name: Aren

Title: Lord

Territory: Unclaimed

Military Units: 0

Population: 0

Rank: Iron Lord

---

Aren frowned.

"This… looks like a game interface."

He had played enough strategy games to recognize something like this.

A territory.

Units.

Population.

Rank.

But if this really worked like a strategy game…

Then there had to be more.

"System," he muttered cautiously.

The screen shifted instantly.

More panels appeared.

---

Territory Panel

Building Panel

Military Panel

Communication Panel

---

Aren's eyes narrowed as he studied them.

If this was real… understanding the system was the most important thing.

But before he could check the panels—

A sudden flash of light appeared several meters away.

Startled, Aren took a step back.

Two figures slowly emerged from the light.

They were tall.

Slender.

Graceful.

Both had long silver hair and pointed ears.

Elves.

Real elves.

Each carried a bow made from pale wood, and their eyes were sharp and alert as they looked around the clearing.

One of them noticed Aren.

The elf's brows furrowed slightly.

"Are you… the one bound to the territory core?"

Her voice was calm but cautious.

The second elf looked at him as well, clearly studying him.

Aren blinked.

"They can talk…"

He hadn't expected that.

He thought they would act like game units.

But these two clearly had their own thoughts.

He hesitated before answering.

"I… think so."

That seemed to be the correct answer.

Both elves exchanged a glance.

Then the first one nodded slightly.

"Then you are our Lord."

But there was no blind devotion in her voice.

Just acknowledgment.

Aren noticed something appear beside them.

---

Elf Ranger

Loyalty: 63

---

Another panel appeared for the second elf.

Elf Ranger

Loyalty: 61

Aren raised an eyebrow.

"So even loyalty has numbers…"

Interesting.

Not absolute loyalty.

Just moderate trust.

Which made sense.

They had just met him.

One of the elves glanced toward the forest.

"The territory seems quiet for now," she said.

"But this forest is not empty."

Before Aren could ask what she meant—

A long, chilling howl echoed through the trees.

Aren's body stiffened.

The sound was deep.

Predatory.

And definitely close.

The second elf immediately gripped her bow tighter.

"Dire wolves."

Aren swallowed.

"Dire wolves?"

"Large predators," she explained.

"They hunt in packs."

Great.

So monsters existed here too.

Aren rubbed his forehead slowly.

Alright.

Let's think.

New world.

Lord system.

Two elf soldiers.

Unknown monsters.

This was starting to feel dangerously real.

A new notification appeared.

---

[Adaptation Period: 30 Days]

During this period, Lords may develop their territories and prepare for future conflicts.]

---

Aren stared at the message.

Future conflicts.

That didn't sound good.

"System," he said quietly.

"Show building options."

A new panel opened.

---

Available Building

Citizen Hall

Requirements:

Wood ×20

Stone ×10

Labor ×3

Purpose: Summon new citizens.

---

Aren let out a slow breath.

So the system didn't magically build everything.

He needed materials.

That meant work.

Real work.

One of the elf rangers looked at the forest.

"There are plenty of trees here."

She gestured toward the surrounding woods.

"Wood shouldn't be difficult to obtain."

The other ranger nodded.

"But gathering resources in an unknown forest without scouting first would be dangerous."

Aren looked at them.

They were already thinking strategically.

Good.

He liked that.

"Let's slow down," Aren said.

"We don't rush into anything."

Both elves looked slightly surprised.

Most new lords probably panicked in situations like this.

But Aren had spent years playing strategy games.

And one rule always stayed true.

Information first. Action later.

He opened the territory panel again.

Then the military panel.

Then the building panel.

Studying each detail carefully.

Aren muttered quietly to himself.

"If this world works like a strategy game… then resources, population, and defense are the foundation."

Another distant wolf howl echoed through the forest.

The sound seemed closer this time.

The first elf ranger frowned.

"We should establish a base quickly."

Aren nodded.

"Yes. But carefully."

He pointed toward a large fallen tree nearby.

"We start small."

"Gather wood first."

Then he looked at the forest.

Something about this place felt dangerous.

Hidden.

Watching.

This world clearly wasn't designed for people to survive easily.

But instead of fear…

A strange excitement slowly formed in Aren's chest.

Because if this really was a world built on strategy…

Then every decision mattered.

And Aren had always loved making the right move.

He looked at the two elf rangers.

"Alright."

"Let's get to work."

Somewhere deep within the Moonshadow Forest—

another Dire Wolf howled.

And the game had finally begun.
