Watching Ash eating cake and drinking coffee with Pikachu, Meowth, Chansey, and Pidgeot, Gabby found it incredibly difficult to associate him with the boss of the Continental Hotel. Ash was simply just too young.
Seeing Gabby's speechless expression, Ash knew exactly what was going on—just another person shocked by his true identity.
"Um, I didn't expect someone your age to—"
"Don't be deceived by age. Everyone has their own area of expertise, and I just happen to be good at making money."
"You certainly didn't mention you were even better at fighting."
Of course, no idiot was going to jump in and ruin the mood right now, and Gabby just nodded, half-understanding.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Just then, the alarm blared. Ash's Meowth looked at him and said, "Boss, they're here."
"Good. Notify all personnel to get ready. Officer Jenny, go wake Lara and the others up. Arbok, you go with Officer Jenny."
"Arbakk!"
Arbok suddenly lunged out from behind Ash, startling Gabby and Ty. Jenny turned to Arbok and said, "Follow me."
After Jenny and Arbok left, Ash looked at James and asked, "Are the traps on your end good to go?"
James hoisted a rocket launcher onto his shoulder, brimming with Team Rocket confidence. "Don't worry. We originally planned to use these to steal Kangaskhan anyway. Now it's the perfect time to show these annoying hunters what we're made of!"
"Alright, Pikachu, Meowth, Chansey, come with me. Pidgeot, you're on guard duty to protect our two reporters."
Pidgeot, having just enjoyed a refreshing cup of bitter coffee, nodded and locked its sharp, eagle-like gaze onto Gabby and Ty.
"Um, we can protect ourselves..."
"It's different this time. We're dealing with the Hunter Organization. They're not easy to deal with, probably..."
Thinking back to Hunter X, whom he had dealt with effortlessly, Ash really wasn't sure if the Hunter Organization was actually considered strong.
"Pika-pi!" (They're here!)
Pikachu pointed toward the sky, and Ash and the group spotted a massive airship soaring above the reserve.
"All units, attention... wait for my signal to move!"
"Understood!"
Meanwhile, inside the massive airship, Hunter Y was looking at the news of Hunter X's capture.
"Ha, caught by the Laramie clan? X is such an embarrassment."
"Boss, we've arrived directly above the Kangaskhan herd!"
"Excellent!"
Looking down at the massive herd of Kangaskhan beneath the ship, Hunter Y smirked. "Commence the capture operation! Use tranquilizer darts and capture nets!"
"Yes, sir!"
As the airship began its slow descent, Ash and James hoisted their rocket launchers and took aim at the aircraft.
"Fire!"
Boom!
Accompanied by a violent explosion, Hunter Y's airship shuddered violently. Hunter Y roared at his subordinates, "What's going on?!"
"Boss! We're under attack!"
"What?! Damn it! Then forcefully grab the Kangaskhan with the nets and let's go!"
"Yes, sir!"
Crash!
Hunter Y's airship fired countless nets, enveloping the Kangaskhan herd. But as the ship tried to ascend, something went terribly wrong—it couldn't lift off.
"Boss! The Kangaskhan herd is too heavy!"
"What?! Too heavy?! Are you kidding me?!"
Hunter Y had no idea that mixed in with this herd was a bunch of heavy mechanical Kangaskhans. Seeing the hunter's ship pinned down, Ash immediately launched a signal flare alongside James.
As the massive firework lit up the night sky, the capture operation began.
"That's the signal! Move!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Countless signal flares shot into the sky. The Pokémon of the entire wild Pokémon reserve instantly went into a frenzy, charging together toward Hunter Y's ship. Led by the mechanical variants, the Kangaskhans began physically dragging Hunter Y's airship toward the stampeding wild Pokémon.
"Boss, someone's causing chaos! The wild Pokémon are rioting!"
"I can see that! Damn it, everyone prepare for battle!"
But just as Hunter Y prepared to fight, the mechanical and wild Kangaskhans had already dragged his ship right into the ambush zone.
"We have arrived in the combat sector!"
"Understood! Initiate attack!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
As massive searchlights simultaneously locked onto Hunter Y's ship, he realized the truth: they had been camped.
"Pikachu, Meowth, go cut those nets. Chansey, you and the mechanical Kangaskhans tear that ship apart!"
"Understood!"
"Pika!"
"Lucky!" (Tear it down!)
With their orders set, Meowth and Pikachu rapidly approached the ship, easily slicing through the nets with Iron Tail and Metal Claw. Seeing the nets destroyed, Hunter Y roared, "Forget the Kangaskhan! We're pulling back!"
Watching the ship slowly try to climb, Ash let out a chuckle. "Think you can run? Onix, go!"
Gabby and Ty witnessed an unforgettable sight: countless Onix erupted from the ground, with one impossibly huge Onix lifting Ash high into the air.
"Press the ship down!"
"Rooaaar!!!"
With the deafening roars of the rock snakes, Hunter Y's airship was quickly swarmed and weighed down by countless Onix. Their escape plan was ruined, and simultaneously, the mechanical Kangaskhans surrounded the grounded ship.
"Rocket Punches, fire!"
Bombarded by countless flying fists that left the ship riddled with holes, Hunter Y and his goons had no choice but to abandon ship. Seeing the crowd encircling them, Hunter Y wasn't about to just roll over and die.
"Come out, Tyranitar! Take them out!"
"Come out, Zubat!"
"Come out, Mightyena!"
"Come out, Magmar!"
Seeing Hunter Y's crew release their Pokémon, the Continental Hotel staff and Team Rocket sent out theirs as well. Lara, Misty, Suzie, Matori, and Jessie rushed to the scene.
Misty: "Starmie, Squirtle, hit the Fire-types with Water Gun!"
Lara: "Scyther, Ponyta, go!"
Suzie: "Vulpix, Fire Spin!"
Matori: "Go, Aggron! Metal Claw!"
Jessie: "Get 'em, Arbok!"
Watching the girls engage the enemy, Ash, standing atop his Onix, looked down and commanded, "We're going in too! All-out attack!"
"Roar!!!"
And so, a brutal, inhumane beatdown commenced.
