Chapter One

"...you'll be on set in a few minutes, Vivienne! Hope you're ready!!" Vivienne' manager's sweet voice reached her ears and she shivered, anticipation and a tiny bit of fear rushing through her veins.

Her nerves were shooting straight through the roof as she stood there, smoothing down her ballet skirt over and over again while some opening and middle up students returned to the back room with different emotions on their faces.

Some looked green, others looked elated, some others looked like they were one step away from fainting there on the floor.

And this scared her much more than her first ballet dance did, well it was the first time—and it was in front of a meager crowd but this ... ..this was the day that would prove to her superiors that she was ready to be their Prima Ballerina.

She was going to be performing the famous Pirouette and then she would add the Fouetté Turn to top it off… she worried her bottom lips with her teeth, her mind racing with thoughts.

Her fiance, Fin Racer had told her to take it easy and not make too much waves or her superiors would think she was a show off and resist her crowning.

She wouldn't have thought much about it but her best friend, Mia..had told her the same thing and she had been overwhelmed with worry ever since then.

She wanted to make more waves but she didn't want to show off too much, and besides her best friend was also a budding ballerina and she wouldn't want to overshadow her.

She was better than Mia but she also thought with more practice and less playing around, Mia would grow into a better ballerina than she already was.

"...out of your head, you're on!!" Her manager screamed from the other end of the red curtains and her eyes shot wide as she quickly took nimble steps out of the back room.

She was shaking with nerves and the boisterous sounds of the crowds of attendees left her stunned for a moment.

Shaking out of it, she quickly walked out to take her place at the middle of the stage and right at that moment, the lights powered down and then it focused on her form.

Bending into her beginning stance, she felt her heart beginning to slow down as twists and turns filled her head but then—before she could start, gasps and cries of shock filled her ears.

Determined not to let that stop her, she gave a go ahead to her DJ but he barely even looked at her, his eyes fixated on the spectacle currently unfolding behind her.

Her eyes squinted as she slowly broke coordination and quickly glanced behind me and her breath stopped immediately.

There, dancing on stage were two people whose faces and silhouettes she could recognize anywhere in this world.

It was Mia and Fin!!!!

Their dance was so intimate and in front of her face, she saw Mia twirl in a perfect Fouetté Turn and dash right into his arms—he caught her, barely ... ..and threw her right into the air where she performed a split!!

Then when she landed, he leaned in and they shared a kiss right there on stage before they giggled and she turned to move again.

But she wasn't having any of it again—pain filled her heart as she began to match over to them, she could feel her heart breaking over and over again with each step she took.

She felt like her extremely light body was being weighed down by a thousand jin stones, her breath came out hoarse as she moved towards them.

As soon as Mia dashed back out to perform another miracle, she stuck out her leg and tripped her and she cried out from shock as she went tumbling down to the ground.

"How could you?! You both know how much this means to me!!" Vivienne screeched and felt the entire place go silent as if everyone thought this was some sort of play that was being added as a last minute entertainment.

"What the…. Viv what is wrong with you?" Fin asked, rushing forward to help Mia up, his eyes staring at her with clear devotion and reverence.

"What is wrong with me? I raved about this performance for months!! Months!!! How could you do this to me!!" Vivienne screeched, her eyes watering as her heart broke all over again the more he held her to his chest like she meant the whole world to him.

"Oh don't be so dramatic, Mia thought you would be happy that she wanted to help you get rid of your nervo-"

"Are you freaking serious right now?! Help me? By ruining my perf—"

"I'm sorry, sister… I never…I never thought of stealing your performance.." Mia cut her off, her eyes watering as she stepped forward, out of his arms to hold her hands.

"You think I'll believe that?" She yelled at her, pushing Mia's hands away from her in disgust but Mia went tumbling backwards with a cry of pain and Fin caught her just in time.

"You've gone too far!! How dare you hit her over and over again in front of me?! Do you think because she's weak, you can mistreat her?!" Fin yelled at Vivienne but she was too busy staring at her hands, flexing them and wondering when she had pushed Mia.

She had only pushed her hands off, how did she fall?!

"I didn't even touch her!" She finally found her voice but Fin merely scoffed at her, his eyes full of disbelief and something else that tore at her heartstrings—hatred.

"Do you think I'm blind?! I was standing right here when it happened! So don't go lying when everyone saw exactly what happen—"

"Oh don't be such a busy body! After everything I've done for you, you left me…for my best friend?! For this two faced bitch!!" Vivienne sneered but before she could blink, something sharp landed on her face and her head snapped to the side due to the force.

Her right hand slowly crept up her cheeks as she felt her brain making a 360 degree turn within her head, did he….did he just slap her? For this bitch?!

"Vicious woman, stop insulting Mia and stop trying to harm her and slander her!!"

" You….you slapped me?" Vivienne asked, her voice low as tears filled her eyes…this was her fiance of four whole years, the same one she had fought for and given so much for…just to be with.

"Oh don't act so surprised like you didn't expect it, you've ruined everything she worked for and now you have the face to pretend you are innocent!" He barked, saliva flying onto her face and Vivienne felt her heart tighten with pain and disbelief.

She has always thought that her fiance and Mia were far too close for it to be seen as normal but since they were so close to each other, she hadn't thought much of it but this…everything was clear now.

"How long?" She suddenly asked and he gave her a disgusting look.

"Sister Vivi, I and Fin are innocent! We would never!!" She cried out, tears rushing down her cheeks as if she was the one who had been wronged.

"Don't play those silly games with me, Mia. I know this is all you, you take me for a fool?" Vivienne asked, anger filling her face and something flashed in Mia's eyes before her aggrieved look disappeared, replaced by an ugly sneer.

"It took you forever to realize that? I'm done pretending around you, I'm done being secretive and living in your shadows like I'm meant to always be second rate whenever you're involved!!" Mia whispered furiously to Vivienne and she stared at her, slack jawed in disbelief.

"You're ruining my life, my career, everything that I've ever worked for…. because of jealousy and envy?"

"It's not envy if I know I can get it easily without any effort," she whispered, eyes flicking to her fian-Fin who seemed quite oblivious to her angst.

"I wish I could take every single thing away from you, even that fool you call a mother…she's so gullible it's irritating," she sneered and before Mia could blink, a sharp slap landed right in her face—the force sending her scrambling backwards in shock.

"Say one more word about my mother and I'll kill you, you traitorous bitch!!" Vivienne growled, her eyes shining red as tears fought to escape her eyes but she bit her lips hard to hold them back.

She couldn't give them the pleasure they were looking for from seeing her cry.

"Viv, what's wrong with you?! How can you keep hitting people? You know what, enough of this…apologize to Mia now!!" Fin yelled, his face beet red as he stalked forward, his eyes filled with hatred.

But Vivienne laughed, the sound full of amusement and annoyance. "I… the only daughter of the Vale Group, should apologize to the low level orphan that I picked up as a stray by the roadside?" She asked, her voice ringing clear in the silent hall and gasps filled her ears.

Perfect, she was done with this nonsense relationship anyway. Better to leave it with dignity.

"You—"

"You know, I actually blame myself….for spending a dime on you and I spent over fifty million!! Well, that ends today…I will make sure you all suffer for what yo—"

"Oh shut it! You make it sound as if I begged you to spend the money on me? Are you not ashamed? Saying all thi—"

"Ashamed? He should be the one ashamed, being kept by a woman and a pretty one at that and running around with the betraying best friend!"

"Yes, yes…how annoying can a man be? So shameless!"

"With his average looks! Thinking he's a Phoenix after spending a woman's money?!"

"Phoenix? He should be called a gigolo!!!"

"Yes, a gigolo!!!"

"Booooooo, gigolo!!!!"

"Gigolo!!!"

The scream made my heart stutter as gratitude filled me up and I smirked at the pale faced fin and Mia.

"See that? I'll make you all pay for this!!" She whispered before she turned to leave the stage with what last dignity she had left.

But before she could make it far, something pulled at her hair as words filled her ears. "I won't let you overshadow me again, you bitch….go and die so I can be the only heiress for you!!!!!"

Mia's scream filled her ears as she went flying and then there was a loud masculine scream from somewhere in the crowd before everything went dark.

She slammed hard into the ground and heard so many cracks echoing in her ears as her vision blurred and she coughed up blood.

Above her on that stage, she saw Mia grinning maniacally at her and then someone's face clouded her vision before it went blank.
