Armin's face didn't change much, but his left eyebrow, which had a small scar on it, arched upwards.
It was as though that was the best expression he could come up with to display his shock at Neo's sudden question. Nonetheless, he didn't interrogate Neo about why he would want to know such a thing and instead answered mechanically.
"Bryce saw you disappearing into what looked like a gate that day since he wanted to group with you. He immediately called to tell me about it—as he should." Armin paused.
Neo could hear the arrogance dripping from his last sentence. Armin carried himself like he was truly the most superior being in the world.
"In Veritas, there are people working on ways to create artificial gates from Mars-to-Earth. We have made progress in the project, but it still isn't perfect enough to launch to the rest of the world. I took the risk of using it anyway because your safety is a top priority for now."
