Devara walked away from Indhumati's chamber, or at least that was what everyone believed.
He had barely gone a few steps down the corridor before he stopped and glanced back toward the decorated doorway.
A mischievous little idea had already formed in his mind.
He quickly looked around before slipping behind one of the massive ornamental pillars lining the corridor.
His elaborate wedding attire, with its countless jewels and golden embroidery, was far too noticeable to hide anywhere, so Devara pulled a large black shawl around himself, covering most of the glittering ornaments.
Only a small portion of his face remained visible beneath the dark fabric and he waited.
A few moments later, Queen Devayani stepped out of the chamber along with the maids.
