Chapter 17 - Chapter 86: Eneru

After Luo Fan and Gan Fall reached an agreement, Gan Fall immediately ordered his Priests to go to Birka to find Skypieans without wings.

For Skypieans, the wings on their backs are actually a dominant gene.

Among the alleles controlling the presence of wings, the wingless gene is recessive, while the winged gene is dominant.

However, the dominant gene that causes Skypieans to grow wings is so strong that 99.99% of the people on Sky Island have wings.

In contrast, the portion of people without wings appears particularly special.

The Priests didn't exert much effort to investigate and find the addresses of three wingless Skypieans on Birka.

The Priests found these three Skypieans based on their addresses, captured their appearances using shadow shells, and sent the photos to Gan Fall.

Gan Fall took the photos to find Luo Fan, but Luo Fan glanced at the three photos and found that Eneru was not among them.

He shook his head at Gan Fall and said, "Mr. God, the person I'm looking for isn't in these three photos."

"Not there? Does that mean there are other people on Birka who don't grow wings besides these three?"

"That I don't know, so I must ask Mr. God to please continue helping me search!"

Gan Fall nodded and, in front of Luo Fan, gave orders to the Priests to increase the intensity of their search.

After more than half a month of searching, they finally found another wingless Skypiean in a slum on Birka.

But what the Priests didn't expect was that this guy was extremely fast; he could even manipulate lightning when escaping. They couldn't catch him at all and could only use a shadow shell to send the person's image back to Gan Fall.

Gan Fall then handed the photo to Luo Fan. As soon as Luo Fan saw the iconic long earlobes in the photo, he knew this was the Eneru he was looking for.

After Luo Fan asked Gan Fall for Eneru's approximate location, he called out to Marco and they flew to Birka together.

At this time, Eneru had been chased by the Priests to a beach; further ahead was the Sea Cloud.

Eneru knew he couldn't touch the water in the Sea Cloud, otherwise his whole body would lose all strength, so he stopped running forward.

The Priests chasing him also came to a halt.

"Why are you running?" the leading Priest asked with a helpless expression.

"Why are you chasing?"

"If you don't run, would we be chasing?"

"If you don't chase, would I be running?"

After an argument between the two sides, lightning suddenly flickered on Eneru's body. Violent electricity blasted toward the Priests accompanied by Eneru's arrogant laughter.

After a burst of thunder, the Priests were all electrocuted until their bodies were charred black, unable to rise again.

"Hahaha, idiots! Did you really think this great lord was just having a war of words with you? this great lord was accumulating lightning to finish you off in one go!

You bastards, this great lord only stole a loaf of bread and yet you chased me for so long, you truly deserve it!" After saying this, Eneru turned to leave.

However, a casual voice suddenly rang out from behind Eneru: "Hey, hey! Luo Fan, is this the person you're looking for? He's clearly not a good person!"

"As if you're a good person! In my eyes, you're just as strange as him," another lazy voice said.

"What? I'm the same as him? Am I not kind and approachable enough? Don't forget who helped treat you the first time you were injured by Pops."

"It was you, it was you, alright! I won't argue that useless stuff with you, let's just take him away first!"

Hearing this, Eneru's expression changed drastically. Lightning flashed on his body as he transformed into a bolt of lightning to flee into the distance.

Lightning and light are both types of electromagnetic waves. Logically, Eneru's speed after transforming into lightning should be equivalent to Kizaru's.

But the current Eneru's development of his Devil Fruit Ability was truly too poor; he couldn't exert such speed at all and was quickly caught by Luo Fan and Marco.

Luo Fan wasn't polite either; to deal with a bad child, one must beat him into submission first. Fanning the wings on his back, feathers imbued with Armament Haki shot toward Eneru.

The lightning-morphed Eneru curled his lip in disdain; no one had been able to hit him when he took this form.

However, in the next second, Eneru felt pain radiating from his body. He discovered in horror that Luo Fan's feathers had actually pierced into him.

What Eneru expected even less was that Luo Fan's claws could also touch his body. With just one strike, he was knocked out of his lightning state.

Eneru fell onto the beach. Luo Fan flew in front of him and asked with a smile, "Still running?"

Eneru shook his head decisively. The situation was stronger than the man; he had always been one to follow his heart.

"That's more like it! Come with us!"

"Wait, I can go with you, but you have to tell me first, who are you people? Why did you catch me? What was that attack just now, how could it touch my body?"

Facing Eneru's string of questions, Luo Fan unhurriedly provided answers: "First of all, we are not Skypieans; we come from the Blue Sea.

Secondly, we're not trying to catch you, but rather want to invite you to go to the Blue Sea with us.

Finally, the reason I could attack you just now is that I used a power called Haki."

"Haki? What's that?" Eneru pressed.

"You can turn into lightning because you ate the Logia Rumble-Rumble Fruit. Logia ability users can avoid attacks by turning into their element.

But this elementalization isn't without a counter; the most effective way is to use Haki.

Haki is divided into three types—"

Afterward, Luo Fan gave Eneru a simple science lesson on the existence of Haki. It was the first time Eneru had heard of such a skill, and he appeared very surprised while also becoming slightly curious about the Blue Sea that created such a skill.

"You said just now you want this great lord to join you? What do you do?"

This time Luo Fan didn't answer Eneru's question because, rather than telling him, he wanted Eneru to judge for himself.

Eneru didn't have much sense of belonging to Sky Island to begin with because the vast majority of Skypieans have wings. A wingless Skypiean like Eneru had suffered much discrimination since childhood.

Because of this, Eneru's personality became extreme, to the point that in the original story, he destroyed his hometown of Birka after mastering the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.

While the current Eneru couldn't be considered a good person, he wasn't as vile as in the original work. Luo Fan felt that he only needed to give him some guidance and make Eneru feel respected to slowly correct his personality; at the very least, he could make Eneru obediently listen to him.

And this guidance wasn't about forcibly instilling some knowledge, but letting Eneru see and think for himself. After all, conclusions one reaches on their own are the most reliable.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Eneru taking revenge on Birka; it's only natural for someone who has been bullied for a long time to deal with those who bullied him after gaining power. The problem was that Eneru blasted the entire island away—that was uncalled for.
