Chapter 18 - Chapter 87: Disciplining Eneru

Seeing that Luo Fan had no intention of answering, Eneru didn't ask further. He obediently climbed Up from the ground and followed Luo Fan and Marco back to Angel Island.

On Angel Island, Eneru's eyes lit Up when he saw Noy and Whitey Bay. Sure enough, Blue Sea People didn't have wings.

Compared to the winged Skypieans, Eneru clearly felt that the wingless Blue Sea People were more approachable.

"Slap~" Marco, who was nearby, noticed Eneru's gaze, raised his hand imbued with Armament Haki, and gave his head a hard pat.

"Why did you hit me?" Eneru turned around and asked angrily.

"It's impolite to stare at ladies."

"But he's lying in a girl's arms!" Eneru pointed indignantly at Luo Fan, who was in Noy's embrace.

"He's a cat. Are you?"

Eneru's mouth slightly parted, leaving him speechless for a moment.

In the following days, Marco deliberately found all sorts of reasons to drill Eneru. Eneru had no idea how many times Marco had pummeled him under the guise of personal revenge.

That evening, the battered and bruised Eneru and a relaxed-looking Marco returned to where the group was staying.

As soon as Noy saw that Eneru was injured again, she quickly took out the medicine box to apply ointment to him.

Eneru was so moved he was almost in tears. How could there be such a perfect girl in the world? When he got beaten, she applied medicine; she made him lots of delicious food every day; and even the turban covering his "Auntie hairstyle" was a gift from Noy.

Eneru practically regarded Noy as his angel, and due to his love for the house extending to the crows that roost on it, his attitude towards Luo Fan also improved significantly.

In reality, Eneru had no idea that both Marco's stick and Noy's carrot were arranged by Luo Fan.

A child like Eneru, who grew Up amidst discrimination and oppression, has a very fragile heart.

Having suffered years of discrimination from the residents of Birka Island, Eneru must harbor hatred. Luo Fan was no saint; he never thought of resolving Eneru's hatred. It is only right and proper that those who harm others must pay a price.

In fact, if Eneru ever sought revenge against the residents of Birka, Luo Fan would even secretly lend him a hand.

But before that, Luo Fan wanted Eneru to form bonds with them. During the process of establishing these bonds, Eneru could not be allowed to feel pity; only then would Eneru truly accept Luo Fan and the others.

This was easier said than done. After so many days of Marco's stick and Noy's carrot, Eneru's attitude towards them finally showed significant improvement.

Next, all that was needed was to swap the carrot for a candied date.

The next day, Marco, as usual, dragged Eneru to the forest under the pretext that he woke Up too late, but this time, Luo Fan uncharacteristically followed them.

In the forest, Marco and Eneru began their fight.

It must be said that Eneru's talent was quite good. During the time he was tormented by Marco, Eneru's strength had advanced by leaps and bounds, and he could now simply control lightning for long-range attacks.

Unfortunately, the current Eneru was still too green and had virtually no ability to fight back against Marco.

In fact, let alone Eneru, even Luo Fan would only get beaten if he fought Marco for a long time.

After Marco once again slammed the elementalized Eneru onto the ground, Luo Fan jumped out at the right moment and said, "Marco, that's enough. His physique should be ready for learning Armament Haki."

"Is that all? I haven't had enough hitting yet!" Marco said with a playful smile, looking at the Eneru who was playing dead.

Hearing this, Eneru shivered, quickly climbed Up from the ground, transformed into lightning, and retreated ten meters away from Marco.

Seeing this, Luo Fan smiled and said, "Eneru, don't be so nervous. Marco means no harm. He was just tempering your physique so you could learn Armament Haki."

"Stop talking nonsense! Does tempering a physique involve specifically aiming for my face? Luo Fan, I don't know what you told him, but don't trust him too much. This bird is really wicked!"

Luo Fan laughed upon hearing Eneru's words. Clearly, Eneru understood that Marco's recent torment was done as a favor to Luo Fan, helping him improve his physique so he could learn Armament Haki.

However, Eneru believed that Marco wasn't simply helping him improve his physique. When they first met, Marco had already said he wasn't a good person, and this period was clearly an act of personal revenge.

Eneru was almost in tears. Based on his trust in Noy, Eneru felt that Luo Fan was also trustworthy and wouldn't have allowed Marco to beat him Up. This must have been Marco acting on his own to exact personal revenge.

Luo Fan guessed Eneru's thoughts and feigned surprise, asking, "Marco, did you specifically hit his face?"

Marco's mouth twitched. He had become the villain now? That wasn't how the script was written initially.

But since the chief director had asked, Marco had no choice. He glanced at Eneru and said flatly, "No, he misunderstood me. I was only tempering his physique."

Eneru was so angry at Marco's words that his teeth hurt. How could this person lie through his teeth like that! Crucially, his patron believed him! Why was life so difficult?

Fortunately, in the following days, Luo Fan always accompanied the two of them to the forest. Eneru could clearly feel that with Luo Fan present, Marco significantly held back his attacks, at least no longer aiming for his face.

Of course, Luo Fan wasn't just there to watch the show during those days; he began teaching Eneru Two-Color Haki.

Eneru had long been interested in Haki. He had been wondering how to get Luo Fan to teach him Haki, but he didn't expect Luo Fan to start teaching him before he even opened his mouth.

As a result, Eneru's recognition and gratitude towards Luo Fan increased further, and he even began to feel that leaving Sky Island with Luo Fan and the others was a good choice.

Perhaps due to the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Eneru's talent in Observation Haki far exceeded that in Armament Haki. Although Marco had been helping Eneru build the foundation for Armament Haki during this time, Eneru ultimately mastered Observation Haki first.

Another month passed, and Eneru was considered to have barely entered the initial stage of Two-Color Haki.

At the same time, throughout this month-plus of learning and living, Eneru solidified his decision to leave Sky Island with Luo Fan and the others.

Eneru, who grew Up amidst discrimination, felt respect and acceptance from Luo Fan and the others for the first time.

Even from Marco, who constantly hammered him, Eneru didn't sense any other emotion—it was probably just a simple dislike for him.

However, the current Eneru still felt some resentment; he didn't want to just let go of the Birka People who had bullied him.

Just as Eneru was caught in indecision, Luo Fan found him and asked a question Eneru never would have expected: "Eneru, there's now a chance to retaliate against those who bullied you. Do you want to join us?"
