As such, Abu's unique ability came from Aladdin ingraining a compatible spell within his being, just as it was possible to bind a spell within an artefact. Due to the high rate of failure, he had only managed to ingrain two spells.
Abu looked at Aladdin in confusion before closing his eyes, sensing a unique feeling that hadn't been there before flowing within his body.
Suddenly, a spark of magical energy triggered a transformation within him.
Before Abu could comprehend what was happening, his body began to enlarge in size.
"Calm down! It's part of the process," Aladdin said, observing as a trace of panic slowly crept onto Abu's face.
Hearing his words, Abu quickly calmed down, understanding that Aladdin wouldn't do anything to harm him.
The guards standing below the stage stepped backwards, almost collapsing onto their backsides in fright as they struggled to comprehend what was happening. They stared in shock and awe at the enormous monkey that had appeared in place of where the monkey had once stood.
Once Abu reached 10(m)ft, he stopped growing. His muscles had become ripped and powerful, and his fur had grown dense and thick.
"WOOWW!!" Abu looked at his current form and exclaimed.
BOOM!!
A deafening echo rang out as he clapped his hands together, testing the force of his newfound strength.
"That isn't all. There's still one more ability," Aladdin said, looking up at Abu.
He had expected Abu to be even taller and bulkier than this, but it seemed he would first need to adapt to the magical energy within him and his abilities to push them to their limits.
Nonetheless, there was still one more ability that he wanted to witness.
Abu nodded and closed his eyes, sensing if there was another spark within him that could be triggered.
Instantly, he found what he was looking for. His magical energy, which he could control almost instinctively, flowed toward it like a stream. Like a spark lighting a fuse, the moment they met, another strange wave of power, different from the last, flowed through every part of his body.
BOOMM!!
The stage beneath Abu shot upward like a stone slab, launching him into the air.
"Ahhh!!" Abu screamed in terror.
Aladdin sighed tiredly before catching him with the control of wind and gently lowering him back to the ground.
The stone slab sank back into the earth.
However, the transformation was far from over. Shards of earth broke off from the ground and fused onto Abu's skin like armour, until it covered his entire body, including his skull like a helmet, leaving only his face exposed.
Abu touched his new hardened skin with an expression of astonishment. Sensing that it was truly made of hardened rock, he turned to Aladdin and opened his arms, attempting to hug him, but Aladdin quickly dodged, soaring to the side.
"Don't even try it. Instead, try punching a boulder out of the rock and throwing it to the other side of the stage without touching it," Aladdin said.
Abu chuckled, his voice now booming as he nodded in response.
He threw a punch into the earth before him.
BANGG!!
CRUMBLE!!
Instantly, a boulder emerged from the ground, appearing before him.
Abu steadied his breath, then stretched his hand back and punched forward at the rock, halting just before his fist could touch it.
SWISSHH!! BOOMM!!
The boulder launched toward the other side of the stage. Just as it was about to fly out of the stage, it halted, then disintegrated into gravel that fell on the stage.
Aladdin had stopped and disintegrated the rock before it could leave the stage.
Abu looked at his hands with pure shock and astonishment, which only grew by the second. He punched the ground once more, and another boulder emerged.
He struck it forward again, stopping just before contact. Then he slammed his foot down, kicking up a massive slab of rock and punching it forward.
BANNG!! BANGG!!
BOOMM!! BOOMM!!
Several boulders emerged from the ground and shot toward the other side of the stage. Before they could exit, Aladdin caught them midair and disintegrated them, melding them back into the stage through transmutation.
Because of this, the stage quickly restored itself to its original form after each strike.
After a few minutes of continuously using his newfound abilities, Abu grew tired. He began reverting to his normal form and collapsed. However, before he could hit the ground, Aladdin swiftly caught him and held him in his arms.
"It seems you've had your fun," Aladdin said.
"Yeah. It felt good," Abu replied with a wide smile.
Aladdin turned to the Imperial Magic Court disciples standing below the stage and nodded at them before vanishing into thin air.
Arif and Zayel stared at the now pristine stage, dumbfounded.
Moments ago, a giant monkey had been controlling one of the elements with ease. They wanted to know what Aladdin had done to the monkey, and if he could do the same for them. They wouldn't even mind if part of the process meant becoming familiars.
Unfortunately, Aladdin had vanished before they could speak to him, so they would have to wait until his next training session to seek an audience.
They subtly glanced at each other, realising they were thinking the same thing.
Without a word, they came to a silent agreement before turning around and returning to their posts.
Aladdin teleported across the palace and arrived at his destination, a luxuriously decorated bedroom with a mid-sized bed.
"Rest here for a while until you've restored stamina and your magical energy," Aladdin said as he laid Abu on the bed. "I'll ensure the servants are prepared to attend to you. Now that you have the potential to grow stronger, I hope you take the opportunity to do so and not laze around."
Abu nodded reassuringly. He raised his hand for a fist bump.
Aladdin met his fist with his own. Then, he vanished into thin air.
Abu closed his eyes and rested with a grin.
He went to sleep quickly, dreaming about his future epic battles with Genie while he rode on Carpet.
