Chapter 129, Chapter 127.
Lynn, who did good deeds anonymously, didn't linger after scaring away Peeves.
He walked past the group of young wizards still discussing why Peeves had suddenly run away and continued upstairs.
Lynn didn't really have any goals or purposes now; he was simply enjoying the thrill of invisibility. He continued climbing the stairs, which were bustling during the day but were much quieter at night, as if they were asleep.
He reached the fifth floor of the castle, and as soon as he stepped out of the corner of the stairs, he saw a familiar figure.
It was Hermione.
She was carrying a thick, brick-like book and several parchment pages filled with words, as if she had just returned from the library.
As she walked towards the Gryffindor common room, she was muttering to herself,
"Demon Ulric, freak Emeric; Demon Ulric, freak Emeric..."
Lynn realized she was reciting first-year history of magic, but she was reciting it all wrong.
As she passed by Lynn, he suddenly whispered a reminder.
"It's the demon America, the freak Yurrick."
"Oh! Yes, it's the demon America, the freak Yurrick, thank you."
Hermione thanked him instinctively, then suddenly startled, looking around.
"Who's there?"
No one answered her, because the surroundings were empty, there was no one there.
Hermione frowned, the voice was familiar, she asked again.
"Lynn?"
Still no response, because Lynn was already gone.
After reminding the little girl that she had memorized the history of magic wrong, he turned and continued up the stairs.
Lynn didn't want Hermione to know that he could become invisible so soon, that would undoubtedly take away a lot of his fun.
He continued to wander around the castle, where he also encountered Nick, the nearly headless ghost of Gryffindor, Mrs. Lorris, Filch's cat, and the Weasley brothers who were trying to plant a booby trap in front of Filch's door…
They couldn't see Lynn, but Lynn could see them.
Lynn finally understood why Harry and Ron loved nighttime outings so much after acquiring the Invisibility Cloak—the feeling of being invisible was simply too enjoyable.
Before he knew it, Lynn had arrived at the westernmost tower of Hogwarts Castle. He climbed a long, winding staircase, walking for a considerable time before reaching a wooden door with a prominent bronze eagle knocker.
Such an obvious sign made it clear at a glance that this was Ravenclaw's common room.
Lynn had no intention of sneaking into other houses' common rooms, but he was quite interested in the eagle knocker.
It was said that Ravenclaw's young wizards didn't mind wizards from other houses entering their common rooms.
However, to enter Ravenclaw's common room, one had to answer the question posed by the bronze eagle knocker.
He had heard Ian say that when they first enrolled, the Ravenclaw prefects had told them that no outsiders had entered Ravenclaw's common room for over a thousand years.
Lynn thought it was a bit impossible. Even if the riddle about the bronze door knocker was difficult, if the Ravenclaw wizards could answer it, there was no reason why wizards from other houses couldn't.
After all, the Sorting Hat assigned houses based on suitability, but many wizards possessed multiple qualities.
For example, Hermione was suitable for both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
And Lynn himself—Professor Fawkes had said more than once that when he first met him, he thought he would be sorted into Gryffindor.
So, what the Ravenclaw prefects told the new students was either boasting, someone had been inside without his knowledge, or there was some other magic preventing outsiders from entering the Ravenclaw common room.
Lynn hadn't been standing in front of the wooden door for long when he heard footsteps in the distance.
A group of Ravenclaw wizards approached.
"Hopefully, today's riddle hasn't changed."
"Do you remember what the answer was?"
"It was solved by Senior Campbell this morning, you forgot? The answer was the sun."
"Oh right, the sun."
They gathered before the wooden door, recalling the answer to the riddle posed earlier that day by the bronze door knocker.
Someone knocked, and the bronze eagle suddenly spoke.
"A gust of wind, a ship, six sailors rowing together, a helmsman in charge of everything."
The young wizard who knocked scratched his head.
"The riddle seems to have changed."
But these Ravenclaw wizards weren't worried about being locked out; instead, they were eager to see who could solve the riddle first.
Very Ravenclaw.
Lynn looked at the young wizards, each one looking quite small, probably a year below him, first-year students.
He watched with interest as the eagles solved the riddle, guessing answer after answer, but the wooden door showed no sign of opening.
The riddle wasn't actually difficult; anyone with a little imagination could solve it. However, for these newcomers who had been at Ravenclaw for less than a year, it was undoubtedly a difficult puzzle.
"Could the answer be a musical instrument?"
one eagle guessed.
Hidden in the shadows, Lynn nodded, muttering to himself, "That's right, the answer should be the flute."
The next moment, as if sensing something, the bronze eagle knocker creaked open the wooden door.
The young Ravenclaw wizards looked bewildered.
They exchanged glances.
"So who guessed it?" someone asked.
But all the young eagles shook their heads, indicating it wasn't them.
One wizard hesitated, saying,
"Maybe... the knocker is broken?"
"Should we report this to Professor Flitwick?"
"Let's tell the prefect first, just in case we've made a mistake."
They filed in into the Ravenclaw common room.
Lynn, having satisfied his mischievous curiosity, was about to turn away when he suddenly felt a gaze fixed on him.
He looked towards the source of the gaze and found it wasn't anyone, but the bronze eagle knocker on the wooden door.
After the Ravenclaw wizards entered, the wooden door remained ajar, as if waiting for someone to enter.
Lynn looked at the bronze eagle and tentatively pointed to himself.
"Are you waiting for me to come in?"
The bronze eagle didn't answer, as if it could only speak riddles.
"But I'm not Ravenclaw, I'm a Slytherin."
Lynn still received no response.
He looked at the half-open wooden door, feeling conflicted.
Everyone had seen it; he didn't want to go in to peep, but the Ravenclaw doorman had invited him in. He couldn't refuse such hospitality…
After finding himself an excuse, Lynn immediately felt relieved.
He quietly slipped into the Ravenclaw common room.
He looked like a small snake slithering into an eagle's nest.
