Chapter 3 - Chapter 183: Let Me Do It, Father

Valmont looked at the communication video from China and asked, "Has the Great Dragon been reported?"

The person nodded. "The Great Dragons said it's not China's business, so they won't interfere."

As the words fell, envy appeared in the eyes of many people in the video. It seemed the dragons only protected China. Given the power the Holy Lord had displayed, China's development might exceed all imagination, and it possessed absolute security.

Thinking back to the revived demons on other continents, the difference was truly like heaven and earth...

Valmont nodded and was about to ask something else.

Beside him, a red-haired dragon-man took a step forward, shielding Valmont and scanning the surroundings with a serious gaze.

Valmont frowned and raised his hand, pausing the meeting. He gripped a gold coin on his chest and took half a step back to hide himself more securely. "Which Excellency has arrived?"

Such keen perception.

Xi Mu thought to himself as he stepped out from the shadows with a smile.

"Long time no see. I recall your name is Valmont, right?"

Valmont's expression relaxed. He stepped out from behind Ah Fu, a smile appearing on his face. "So it's His Majesty Xi Mu."

He glanced around. People behind various video feeds were watching. Valmont thought for a moment and cut off the meeting.

Anyway, Morocco had already been conquered, so a delay of a few hours wouldn't hurt.

"What business does Your Majesty have with me?"

Valmont asked with a smile, gesturing toward a seat. "Please, Your Majesty, have a seat."

"The Source." Xi Mu hopped onto the seat, glanced at the gold coin on Valmont's chest, and wore a very amiable expression.

"Er, wait a moment. Let me ask. After all, the Blue Planet hasn't been very peaceful lately. Ever since His Majesty the Holy Lord revived, many myths have followed suit."

As Valmont spoke, he pressed a button and gave a few instructions.

Soon, a woman in a formal suit entered. She placed a laptop in front of Valmont and pulled up the data.

Xi Mu leaned over to look. Although he couldn't understand English,

Magic allowed him to understand the meaning represented by the text.

The more Xi Mu read, the more shocked he became.

A hint of appreciation even appeared in his eyes as he looked at Valmont. This fellow was a talent.

"Can it be confirmed that it's the North Pole?"

"Yes, it's currently confirmed. Among all folklore, the only place that fits the power of the Sky Demon is the Far North. We just haven't found the exact location yet." Valmont nodded.

Finding things wasn't that simple for him. He needed to verify all folklore, official records, rumors, historical annals, and other materials.

And within those materials, he had to locate these extraordinary items.

The amount of manpower and resources spent on this was almost incalculable. If Shendu hadn't provided enough, he wouldn't have been able to handle such a workload.

"You've done very well."

Xi Mu was about to reward Valmont, but seeing that gold coin again, he could only shake his head in the end. He flapped his wings and vanished instantly.

He was quite wary of his sixth brother now. It was better to let his brother reward his own subordinates, lest he be accused of stealing people.

After Xi Mu left, Valmont was stunned for a moment, then felt a bit disinterested. "Tsk... also a demon, but the Holy Lord is much more generous..."

After muttering to himself, Valmont reconvened the meeting to arrange the crackdown and capture of the Cat-People.

Which nation's experimental tables didn't have a few Vampires or Werewolves on them nowadays?

Adding a few Cat-People wouldn't hurt anything now.

Meanwhile, in Uncle's Antique Shop.

Since Zhong Su, there hadn't been any major disturbances here. Of course, except for Jade's terrifying cultivation progress; in just one month, she had reached the level Uncle was at a year ago, even showing signs of stepping into the realm of an Archmage.

Watching this unstoppable cultivation made Uncle's eyelids twitch. The pressure was constantly rising, and he spent every day diligently meditating and practicing magic.

Of course, it wasn't of much use. Jade's progress was visible to the naked eye; her cultivation level even shot up when she wasn't practicing.

And today, Jade began to dream again while she slept.

This dream was somewhat fragmented.

It was about a miraculous creation born of humans and gods. From birth, she was called the Earth Mother Goddess. Her father was the strongest god in the world, and her mother was the strongest righteous qi divine Fighter of the Civilization.

She was born into an incredibly happy family, loved and worshipped by everyone since childhood.

From childhood to adulthood, a smile was always on her face.

Until one day, darkness began to spread, and the smile on her face finally shattered.

War took everything from her.

She loathed herself because she had caused her mother's death, caused a god to fall, and caused the prosperous Civilization to spiral into complete decline.

That extreme self-blame and heart-wrenching feeling made Jade wake up with a start.

She panted heavily. The blood and fire in the dream were so real.

The weeping of her clansmen, the vows to fight for her, the mutual destruction of the Civilization and the Shadows.

The sun during that period must have been the dimmest century in the entire long river of time.

Jade felt the deep sadness in her heart and fell silent for a moment.

Those were the lingering emotions of the Mayan Earth Mother Goddess, and they were too real.

Jade also knew that perhaps another trial was coming.

Without hesitation, she got up and went downstairs to find Uncle, who was practicing magic.

She waited quietly for Uncle to finish his magic. Amidst Uncle's slightly weary inquiries, she recounted everything she had just dreamed.

Uncle fell silent for a moment; it had come after all.

He let out a long sigh of relief.

He began to take out materials he had prepared long ago, intending to suppress Jade's dreams.

The mechanism of Jade's soul was now understood. In short, the gold coin was still there, his teacher was still there, and Lope's backup plan was still there.

As long as the influence of the deity was reduced, Jade's victory was only a matter of time.

Although Jade wanted to see more of the Earth Mother Goddess's story, she didn't act willfully in the end and obediently let her dreams be suppressed.

As long as she didn't get reckless, she could try to fulfill the Earth Mother Goddess's wish when the final trial arrived. But it was impossible for her to add greater risk because of it.

The Earth Mother Goddess was always just a historical figure; everything she cared about now was what was real.

Without Shendu stirring up trouble, the world seemed to follow the current story's progression.

However, these things didn't have much to do with Shendu for the time being.

Whether it was Xi Mu, the mortal factions, or Jade,

none could distract his attention like the thirty-centimeter diameter passage before him, with flames at its edges and chaos in its center.

Shendu instinctively locked eyes with Drago.

Both had a hint of hesitation in their eyes.

The space-time passage was open; now was the time to touch time itself.

Shendu raised his hand, staring intently at the passage. Countless treasures around it were rapidly disappearing as the passage remained open.

As soon as Shendu's hand drew near, a powerful repulsive force erupted, instantly snapping his hand away. A massive power of time seemed to swirl around, giving him a warning.

Just as Shendu thought, the world would not give him the chance to travel to other worlds.

Drago looked at Shendu, hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth and spoke:

"Let me do it, Father!"
