Chapter 1 - Chapter 1- Arrival

The giant gates of my new school stood tall, unmovable like a mountain made of steel and untapped potentials. The sky was a brilliant blue, and the sun was blazing hot in the sky like an angry volcano, ready to overflow.

This is my first day of Amelia Academy, a prestigious school for monsters–I don't know if it's a satire thing. But the sign said "monster," even on the website I found this school ad on.

But I took it for granted that it might be a tiny bit of truth to it.

As long there's cute girls, I don't care if the students are Yokai, spirits, demons. Whatever they claim to be

But my education would come first...

I looked to the sky to see a strange bird fly over me, and fly into a tree beyond the giant gates. I couldn't help but smile knowing that my future could either go two ways:

Total failure, or a success. But both carries pros and cons.

Let me start with a successful first impression. The cons are too much attention, and I'd be carrying everyone's expectations. Which means, extra judgment from strangers who don't even know me.

The pros are essentially the opposite of the cons–I'd have a easy life. Probably surrounded by beautiful girls from this school.

The cons of being a total failure : is that people would find it easier to look down on me as just a outsider. I might even end up alone, sitting by myself during lunchtime– I don't see it as a problem. And the pros, people won't force you to do anything extraordinary.

I pulled the straps on my bag, feeling an unmeasurable surge of excitement build up in my chest, like a erupting volcano. 'I've got this.

I said inwardly as I pushed the giant gates to my future. The gate opened with a sound of metal grinding against metal, the sound loud enough for the students walking by to stare at me with their curious eyes.

The courtyard was huge enough like a football field, with paved walkways connecting to the various buildings scattered around the compound. Trees lined the walkways for shade, dropping dried up leaves on the pavement, that made it look kind of cute.

Ah, there were benches there, and some students who looked human for certain were occupying them.

I could hear the faint whispers of the students as I walked by, heading to the biggest building—because the principals' office is always in the biggest building in a school.

"Geez, I thought this school was for monsters."

I mumbled under my breath, my voice barely audible for anyone else to hear. I'm the new guy in a new school, just looking for the principals' office.

"Only if they put up signs to the auditorium or the office... I feel like I'm lost."

I continued walking down the long stretch of pavement to the huge, dome-shaped building full of confidence. I was the happiest dude on earth.

I saw some guys in the school's uniform with a cooler, it seems like they're selling something to drink. Without thinking I approached them, hands already reaching for my wallet.

"Hello, newbie! Wanna buy something cool to drink?" One of the guys asked, a huge smile on his face.

The other guys just stood around the cooler , as if waiting for the blonde good-looking guy who greet me to talk.

"You see, we are from the photography club and we're selling cold beverages to support our funding." He added without me asking. Like dude, I didn't ask.

"Do you want to support our club?" The tallest guy asked timidly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Please, support our club! I'm begging you!" They all bowed, which created a scene.

I'm so embarrassed right now... I've got to deescalate it quickly. Or else I'd become a bad guy for letting them bow like this.

I inhaled a sigh. "Fine, fine. I'll support your photography club or whatever. Do you have any canned drinks?"

"Yes, plenty. Just say which one." The blonde-haired guy, who I assumed is the boss answered, opening the cooler.

What a weird group of guys.

After I bought my drinks, I continued my treacherous journey to the building, taking a sip as I went while the students gave me looks of pity.

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!!! MOVE!I

I heard someone yelling and heading towards me with speed. I glanced back at the noise and saw a girl on a bicycle riding in my direction, leaning forward off the seat. Her red hair which was shoulder length flowed freely in the wind, and her skirt rides up her thighs slightly.

"I SAID YOU SHOULD GET OUT OF MY WAY! I'M LATE FOR ORIENTATION!"

She yelled, but I couldn't fully understand her. Before I knew it,we collided into each other with a thud. Both of us on the ground— she was on top of me, our faces inches away from each other, and her medium sized breasts pressed up against my chest.

"Oww~"

She slowly got up as if nothing happened, rubbing her head. Excuse me, we were close enough to almost kiss.

"Oww, shoot-"

I sat up and stared at her. Her now dirty school uniform.

"Are you deaf? Couldn't you hear me yelling?" She blurted out, her crimson eyes sharp with frustration.

"Ah," I didn't know what to say to her or to explain my actions. Sorry wouldn't fix what happened. My drinks-

I searched for my canned drink on the floor, only to find it spilled on the pavement. The spill spread to her skirt, dying the fabric a deep navy blue.

"Ah, your skirt. "

I tried to clean it up, but it probably looked like I was doing something inappropriate to her. But that wasn't my concern . Her skirt was— wait that sounds perverted.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, that isn't anything!" She said, laughing awkwardly. But I spotted her red cheeks. "It's nothing. I'm always clumsy, and getting into awkward situations."

Her easy going behavior caught me off guard for a bit. I expected her to be angry or something.

"Ah, I'm Ria, a first-year in Amelia Academy! Nice to meet you." She stretched out her hand for a shake .

"Likewise. I'm Kai. I am a first-year also. Can we go to where the other first-years are?"

I asked, grabbed her hand with a strong grip, but she didn't budge. Not even an inch.

Is she strong or what? Our size difference is a massive gap. She's small and petite, while I'm on the huger side.

She smiled, and her eyes turned an heart shaped. "Sure thing. It'd be fun." Her index finger touched my chest. It lingered for a short moment before she turned around and grabbed my hand, pulling me along. She's really Pushy for a girl this age.
