So we ended up exchanging our numbers together. His name was Ansh. In classes he would help me with the studies and he was very respectful at first that I ended up catching feelings for him. It was a small crush. Nothing too big. We would talk to each other sometimes cause we became friends now. He was in NCC (national cadet corps). It's been a few months now since we became friends everything was going smoothly but then one day he confessed to me and since I've always been awkward with affection I didn't know how to give it back even though I liked him I ended up not accepting his confession and we decided to stay as friends. At this point I felt like a sadist who loves to make herself suffer but I was insecure and unsure about my feelings I couldn't help it when affection came so suddenly. So I put my guard up. We stayed as friends and were still very much playful with each other like nothing had changed until one day his ex-girlfriend called me. I picked up the call and said "hello who's this?" She answered in her soft voice and said "hello? Am I speaking to Meher Kardam?" The voice sounded very soft but I could tell that she was desperate so I answered. "Yes. I'm Meher. Who are you and How can I help you?" She took a breath and said "I'm Ansh's girlfriend Priya and I wanted to speak to you about it." I got confused because Ansh never told me about having a girlfriend but I shrugged it off because it was his personal matter so I asked. "Yes Priya. What do you want to talk about?" She answered "Meher I'm Ansh's girlfriend but I wanted to know are you dating Ansh as well?" Hearing her reply made me more confused I had a bad feeling about it so I replied. "Priya I think there's a misunderstanding. I'm not dating Ansh. We're only friends and if you want you can ask my other friends and Ansh." I heard her sigh. I didn't know if it was a sigh of relief or annoyance. She replied "okay Meher thanks for clarifying the misunderstanding." With that she hung up the call. The whole conversation left me confused. I called Ansh to speak to him about it. "Hello Ansh? What's going on? Your girlfriend just called me and she was asking me if I was your girlfriend? And where did she get my number from? Because as long as I know I've never met her before." I heard Ansh sigh as he replied. "Meher she's not my girlfriend. She's my ex-girlfriend and she's been stalking me so I just wanted to get away from her and that's why I used your name and told her that you're my girlfriend. I'm sorry about it." When I heard his reply I got slightly annoyed and said. "Please don't drag me into your personal matters and since you already know that she's a stalker you should've simply reported her or something instead of using my name because it'll only create more drama." He took a deep breath and said "I'm sorry Meher I know what I did was wrong and I'll make sure she doesn't chase you or call you again." I cut the call. I was stressed because my exams were near and now I felt slightly scared too because what if his girlfriend started chasing me. I hate getting involved in other people's dramas. And soon enough my exams started. I was getting ready to go to the college when I got a call from an unknown number and I picked it up. "Hello?" The other side replied and it sounded like a girl's voice "hello Meher it's me Priya. Can we meet up in college?" I was already stressed because of my exams and I didn't want to get involved further so I replied. "No Priya. I have an exam today so I can't meet up with you please stop involving me in your personal matters." And with that I hung up the call. And went to the college. Since it was an exam the college was pretty crowded today. I met Ansh at the entrance and tried to ignore him because the involving further will only get me in trouble. One of my friends told me that Priya is waiting for me at the college entrance and she's waiting for me but I ignored them and went to the exam hall. I felt scared for some reasons like if I met Priya something bad will happen so I focused on my exam instead. After the exam was over I came out of the college and someone from my friend group told me that Priya waited for me during my paper outside of the college and she was desperate to meet me but she left after a few hours. I felt bad for her. But I couldn't help that weird gut feeling which was making me anxious. I went home. And strangely she never called again until a month later.
