Chapter 158
GEORGIA POV.
All sound was blocked out the moment I was underwater. Bubbles floated up as my hair swirled around my face.
I shook, pulled, and tried to get free from the ropes, but they were too tight. My whole life seemed to flash before my eyes like the pages of a book. I could see Jaime leaving me to die, and being found the next morning when the pool was drained.
A white, lifeless body. Then the kids would cry, the maids would too, Nathalia would be unable to handle it, and if Nikolaj came back…
If he found out… he would be so broken. The thought of him crying made me fight, even though it felt impossible. I wanted to breathe so badly. I was so scared, sinking to the bottom all by myself.
Just then, someone grabbed my arms and tried to pull me up. It was Michael. Hope flared in my chest, and he used his claws to tear at the ropes holding me. He scratched me a few times, but I didn't care. I wasn't going to die.
