Part 2: The Truth in the Shadows
Night fell slowly.
But inside the mansion—
Darkness had already taken over.
The air felt heavy.
Like something was about to break.
Restricted Room
No one had left.
No one dared to.
The men still stood in line.
Silent.
Sweat visible on some faces.
Fear on others.
Damian hadn't moved much.
But his presence alone…
Was enough.
"Check everything again."
He said coldly.
Lucas nodded.
Already working through files, records, movements.
Then—
A guard rushed in.
"Sir…"
Damian didn't look at him.
"Speak."
"We found something."
That made Damian turn.
Slowly.
Dangerously.
"What?"
The guard hesitated for a second.
Then—
"It came from one of the internal systems…"
A pause.
"…but it was accessed using an external override."
Lucas frowned.
"That's not possible."
"It is if someone inside helped."
Damian replied.
Silence again.
"Who had access?"
Lucas answered quickly.
"Only trusted members."
That made it worse.
Damian's eyes darkened.
"Bring me the list."
Upstairs — Elara's Room
Ethan sat in front of his laptop.
Focused.
Typing quickly.
His eyes sharp.
Elara stood beside him.
Watching.
"Anything?"
She asked quietly.
Ethan didn't respond immediately.
Then—
"…Yeah."
Her heart skipped.
"What is it?"
Ethan leaned back slightly.
Thinking.
"This wasn't just a leak."
Elara frowned.
"Explain."
Ethan turned the screen toward her.
"Someone didn't just send information out…"
He paused.
"They've been watching for a while."
Elara's eyes widened slightly.
"…Watching?"
Ethan nodded.
"Tracking movements… schedules… patterns…"
A pause.
"This is planned."
Silence filled the room.
"Then it's not just betrayal…"
Elara whispered.
"It's something bigger."
Ethan's expression turned serious.
"Exactly."
Restricted Room — Moments Later
The list was placed in front of Damian.
Names.
Faces.
People he trusted.
His gaze scanned each one.
Carefully.
Slowly.
Then—
He stopped.
His eyes narrowed.
"…Him."
Lucas stepped closer.
Looking at the name.
"…You're sure?"
Damian didn't answer immediately.
But his expression said enough.
"Bring him."
A Few Minutes Later
A man was dragged into the room.
Struggling.
Panicking.
"Boss! I didn't do anything!"
His voice shook.
Fear clear in his eyes.
Damian stepped forward.
Slow.
Controlled.
"You had access."
"I swear I didn't—"
"Who are you working for?"
Damian cut him off.
The man froze.
"I'm not—"
Damian grabbed him by the collar.
In one swift motion.
The room went silent.
"Don't lie to me."
His voice dropped dangerously low.
"I don't repeat questions."
The man trembled.
"I—I don't know what you're talking about!"
That was it.
Damian's expression turned completely cold.
Gone.
Lucas stepped forward slightly.
"Damian—"
"Stay out of it."
Same tone.
Same warning.
Lucas stopped.
Because he knew…
There was no stopping him now.
Damian leaned closer to the man.
"You made a mistake."
A pause.
"You stayed too long."
The man's eyes widened.
"You think I wouldn't notice?"
Silence.
Then—
Something changed.
The man's fear…
Turned into something else.
A small smile.
And that—
Was wrong.
"You're already too late."
The man said quietly.
The room froze.
Lucas's expression darkened.
"What does that mean?"
The man laughed softly.
"You think this is just about information?"
Damian's grip tightened.
"Talk."
The man leaned closer slightly.
"It's already in motion."
Silence.
"What is?"
Damian asked coldly.
The man's smile widened.
"You'll see."
And just like that—
Everything changed.
Because this wasn't just betrayal anymore.
It was war.
And it had already begun.
To be continued…
