Part 2 The First Crack
The peace didn't break loudly.
It cracked.
Slow.
Quiet.
Dangerous.
Morning — Dining Area
Everything looked normal again.
Breakfast laid out.
Seraphina laughing.
Ethan scrolling his phone.
Amelia sitting quietly.
But something was off.
Amelia hadn't spoken much.
Not even to Ethan.
He noticed.
Of course he did.
"You're quiet today."
He said casually.
No response.
He looked up at her.
"Hey."
She finally glanced at him.
"I'm fine."
He frowned slightly.
"That didn't sound convincing."
"I said I'm fine."
Her tone was sharper now.
That… wasn't normal.
Ethan leaned back slightly.
"…Okay."
Elara noticed the tension.
So did Damian.
But neither spoke.
They were watching.
Later — Hallway
Ethan caught up to her.
"Alright, what's wrong?"
She kept walking.
"Nothing."
"Don't do that."
She stopped suddenly.
Turning to him.
"I said I'm fine."
Silence.
Ethan studied her face.
"You're pushing me away."
A pause.
"…Good."
That hit harder than expected.
Ethan blinked slightly.
"What?"
"You should stay away from me."
Her voice was calm.
Too calm.
"We've talked about this already."
"Yes."
"And I meant it."
Silence stretched between them.
Ethan's expression hardened slightly now.
"Something happened."
She didn't answer.
"You don't just wake up and decide to act like this."
A pause.
"…You don't understand."
"Then explain it."
Her eyes flickered slightly.
But she shook her head.
"I can't."
Frustration crept into Ethan's voice.
"Try."
She stepped back slightly.
"You're going to get hurt."
"I don't care."
"I do."
That stopped him.
Their eyes locked.
For a moment—
Everything felt too real.
Too exposed.
Then she looked away.
"…That's why you need to stay away from me."
And she walked past him.
Leaving him standing there.
Confused.
Frustrated.
But more than anything—
Not giving up.
Damian's Study — Same Time
Lucas stood in front of Damian again.
Serious.
"We intercepted something."
Damian looked up slowly.
"What is it?"
Lucas placed a device on the table.
"A message."
Damian's eyes narrowed slightly.
"From?"
Lucas hesitated.
"…From inside."
Silence.
The room turned cold instantly.
"Play it."
Lucas pressed a button.
A distorted voice echoed softly.
"…She's still there."
"…Waiting."
"…Just like you said."
Static.
Then silence.
Damian didn't move.
But his eyes—
Darkened dangerously.
"There's a leak."
Lucas nodded slowly.
"Yes."
A pause.
"And it's someone close."
Outside — Garden
Amelia stood alone again.
Hands slightly clenched.
Her heart heavy.
She had made her choice.
To push him away.
To protect him.
Even if it hurt.
But she didn't know—
The danger wasn't just outside anymore.
It was already inside.
And the first crack…
Had just begun.
To be continued…
