I sat in my office, head buried in paperwork and supply lists, the glow of my laptop screen cutting through the dim light like a blade.
Two hours had slipped by since I had sent Red on his mission to get me the bastard pirating my weapons, and the anger still simmered hot in my veins.
Still, my fingers flew across the keyboard as I compiled the final list of ingredients needed for Connie's thirty-two-layer masterpiece.
We already had mountains of supplies... flour, eggs, sugar, butter, and enough vanilla to fill a warehouse but certain things still had to be sourced immediately. Structural integrity for a cake this ambitious was non-negotiable.
