Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: the blood we share

The funeral for Kaizen Flux and Leo Rho

3rd division captain and a 3rd division member,

Was not like other funeral, everyone came to pay their respects, to the fallen heroes.

. The air at the border was thick with the scent of wet earth and incense.

Elias stood before the fresh grave of the man who had died to save him. The guilt was a physical weight, pressing into his chest like a lead bar. "...I... it's my fault," Elias whispered, his silver eyes clouded.

Drakye Void stepped up beside him, his presence as steady as a mountain. He dropped a single dark flower onto the casket. "... It's not your fault, Elias," Drakye said, his voice a low rumble. "I believe Kaizen knew this was going to happen... but he went anyway. He was a good guy....we all respected him , a true hero indeed." He tapped Elias's shoulder firmly. "Let's go."

Nearby, Zainab Virel stood in silence. The usually vibrant 5th Division Captain looked diminished, her eyes red-rimmed, but a new, cold flame burned in her gaze. She dropped her flowers and whispered a single, jagged promise to the wind: I will avenge you. One by one, the other Captains followed, their gratitude expressed in silent nods and the soft thud of blossoms hitting the earth.

One Month Later:

The 10th Division was finally discharged.

They were all healed and back to full strength

As they stepped out into the sunlight of the hospital the "normal" chaos of the squad returned instantly.

Vela was already tearing into a massive bag of spicy dried meat. "I thought my stomach had shrunk," she muffled through a mouthful of snacks. "But I was wrong. I need three steaks and a gallon of juice. Now."

"Yo, Vela, save some for the rest of us !" Jaxen laughed, Cipher adjusted his glasses, checking a data-pad. "It's nice to be out of the bandages, and NYX stop teleporting or you gonna hurt yourself"

Nyx stuck her tongue out, appearing and disappearing in three different spots in a second. "Can't help it ! I feel like a spring that's been coiled too tight!"

Sloane and Mikasa walked together, Mikasa checking out her wrist and joined, while Sloane looked over the team's medical vitals on her phone. Kaelen and Rook followed behind, Rook absentmindedly crushing a soda can between two fingers.

"Hmm...., yo guys, where's Renji?" Elias asked, looking around.

"He's coming," Sloane replied. "He's just having a little talk with his dad."

Inside the hospital, Renji's father—the head of the Star Eyes Clan—sat on the edge of his son's bed. "You made our family proud, Renji," he said, his voice rare and soft. "But you still need to master your Star Eyes....I suggest you Come with me.

I can teach you how...to control it ."

Renji looked toward the door, then back at his father. "I've been thinking about it... it's been a long time since I've been home.... So I'll come ....I need to get stronger..... and push past my limit "

When Renji emerged to say his goodbyes,

He told his teammates he was leaving for a while,

They all understood, "don't take too long renji.."

Jaxen said as he Shaked he's hands

"I won't "Renji replied, glancing at the rest of the 10th. "Don't break the base before I get back."

The reunion at the base was short-lived. The defeat by Magals had ignited a hunger for power that a month of bed rest couldn't satisfy. Jaxen announced he was also leaving in other to get stronger. "Huh you're also leaving.....". Elias said

"Yh....I need to get stronger... I can't stay the same

Forever..... don't worry I'll be back soon" Jaxen replied as he grabbed is bag and left the base.

" Be careful" the 10th said in one voice.

"I will byee". Jaxen replied.

Kaelen and Rook followed Drakye Void into the training depths of the base, seeking better control of their powers.

At 10:00 PM, Elias sat on the rooftop of the base, staring at the distant city lights. He was so lost in thought he didn't hear the shadow moving behind him.and

THWACK.

Everything went black.

"...mm.. what happened..." Elias groaned, his vision swimming. As he blinked, the world came into focus. He was in a dimly lit room, and standing before him was Zane, the second-in-command of the Xenocides. But Zane wasn't alone.

Standing next to him was a man with curly black hair and amber-gold eyes, wearing an orange shirt and a gold chain. The man looked familiar—painfully familiar

Elias's eyes widened. The air left his lungs. It was Tyson, his brother who saved him three years ago from the aliens. It felt like a dream Elias blinked twice and pinched himself but it was real.

"Your... you're alive..." Elias whispered, tears immediately spilling over.

Tyson stepped forward and pulled him into a crushing hug. "You're still just a crybaby," he teased, though his own voice was thick with emotion.....

Then Elias looked at Zane he rembered the way he walked although he had changed but he finally recognised him, it was his his brother Zane....

Zane moved closer and knelt down ,His shoulders shook as he looked at his two younger brothers.

"I'm sorry, Tyson. I'm sorry, Elias," Zane choked out. "I wasn't strong enough to protect... mum and sister... I couldn't save them." Zane said he's eyes filled with tears and guilt , he was the first born and he couldn't protect he's family.

The three Walker brothers, separated by aliens 3 years ago, finally held each other in the dark. They've finally found each other.
