Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Return to Greed Island

"Blacklight virus…?"

Shuya watched the demon's transformation and immediately thought of the old Prototype game he used to play.

"Hahaha!"

Seeing the shocked look on Shuya's face, Sano knew he had won. That weird silver needle had given him insane power. He flexed his arms, muscles rippling like steel under jet-black skin. Veins bulged like writhing snakes across his body, and his joints popped loudly as they expanded.

He felt unstoppable—like a living metal monster.

This had to be Upper Moon level. Maybe even stronger.

Best part? The crushing fear that used to hit him whenever he thought of Muzan's name was completely gone.

I really am the luckiest bastard alive!

Sano bared a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth and grinned. "Kid, thanks for the power-up. As a thank-you, I'll eat every last piece of you."

Shuya just sighed and shook his head.

Brain still smooth as ever.

The demon lunged.

Shuya didn't even move his feet. He simply snapped his fingers.

Sano's black pupils instantly turned pure white. The demon froze mid-charge, completely still.

Did you really think that power came for free?

Too naive.

"Eh, screw it. Dinner first."

Shuya glanced up at the moon. There were plenty more demons in this world. No rush. He could conjure hundreds of those needles whenever he wanted.

He gave the controlled demon one last order: "Stand right here. Don't move a single step."

Then he waved his hand. A glowing doorway appeared in the air. Shuya pushed it open and stepped through.

Greed Island, your king is home.

"Mii!" "Mii!"

The two familiar Snowball Beasts bounced over immediately. The only difference was the location—Greed Island's entrance instead of Rika's hallway.

Shuya scooped one up in each arm and gave their fluffy heads a good ruffle. He'd been feeding them Nen for two whole years. They'd only grown a little bigger, but still no evolution. Any Nen user who looked at them with Gyo would be stunned by the sheer amount of aura packed into those tiny bodies.

Are they missing some condition, or are they just saving up for a massive jump straight to Angewomon?

Shuya sensed the girls' locations and headed their way, still carrying the two fluffballs.

(Once inside Greed Island, his control over the entire world was absolute—like a giant En covering the whole map. He usually kept it turned off. Knowing everything in advance took the fun out of life.)

"Shuya-kouhai, welcome back."

Saeko was the first to greet him, stepping forward with a soft smile. Even after a full year together, she still called him "kouhai." It was their little thing.

Shizuka preferred "Little Shuya."

Rei liked "Yan-kun."

Yuriko called him "little brother."

Saya had settled on "big brother."

And Rika… well, Rika usually went with "you little bastard," or "big bastard" when she was in a mood.

"I'm home."

Shuya pulled Saeko into a hug. The moment he did, he felt exactly what she was wearing—nothing but the classic white apron. The naked kind.

Very classic.

"Dinner ready? Need any help?"

He wasn't fazed. After a year together they'd tried every kind of fun. A naked apron was basically Tuesday night foreplay. Besides, it wasn't bedtime yet.

"No need. Everything's done. We were all waiting for you," Saeko said with a gentle laugh.

"Perfect. Let's eat."

Shuya took her hand and walked with her toward the dining hall.

They lived in the massive castle at the exact center of Greed Island—the same one that looked like the "Blessing of the Ruler" card from the game.

The moment the two of them entered, every head turned.

Shizuka. Rei. Saya. Yuriko. Rika.

All six of them were there.

Shuya led Saeko to the table, opened his arms, and said with a warm smile, "Everyone… I'm back."

"Welcome home," the girls answered in unison.

Their expressions were different, but every single one held pure relief. They had all been quietly worried that the mysterious door might swallow him forever.

Shuya looked at the six women seated around the table and felt a deep wave of gratitude.

He was incredibly lucky.

His Greed Island ability let him travel between worlds without freezing time back home or trapping anyone. Unlike those other isekai stories where the protagonist could never return, or where time stopped for everyone left behind.

He didn't like those versions. After jumping through countless worlds for who knows how many years, would the guy still remember the girls he left at the very beginning? Would he still feel that first spark?

Would he forget them and leave them frozen in "eternity"? Or would he eventually bring them all back for one big happy ending?

Shuya didn't know.

But right now, looking at these six women who had waited anxiously for his safe return…

He felt nothing but pure luck.

No matter what the future held, at this moment he had everything.
