Chapter 92 - Samantha’s Genius in Action

The morning sun filtered through the canopy of the Sierra Madre, dappling the ground with patches of gold. Samantha had already been awake for over an hour, jumping from rock to rock, muttering excitedly about "improving forest architecture" and "making bridges for squirrels."

Tay Eming followed her with a mixture of awe and mild exhaustion. "Samantha, do you ever stop?"

"I only stop for muffins!" Samantha declared, holding a half-eaten banana muffin triumphantly. "Mama said energy is important for inventors!"

Dale laughed from the bench. "She's going to outsmart all of us before she even starts school."

Sierra shook her head, smiling. "And she's barefoot, like her mother. It's genetic, apparently."

Meanwhile, in the heart of Manila, Mau was juggling multiple conference calls while reviewing sketches for M Designs' new eco-friendly line. Tim leaned over her shoulder, feeding her coffee and pretending to take notes.

"Do you think Samantha's going to inherit your obsession with sustainable materials?" Tim teased.

Mau smirked. "If she does, we'll have a very well-informed, very bossy CEO at age seven."

Tim grinned. "Good. She'll need bossiness if she's going to keep up with us."

Back in the Sierra Madre, Samantha had dragged Tay Eming to a small waterfall, chattering nonstop.

"Tay Eming! We need to measure the water flow. It's perfect for the new forest irrigation system!"

Tay Eming crouched beside her. "Measure? Sam, you're three years old!"

"I know!" she said, waving a tiny wooden stick like a pointer. "But I can use rocks as markers. See? One, two, three… and then we multiply by the fish!"

Dale rubbed his temples. "Multiply by the fish?"

Sierra laughed. "It's her math genius kicking in. Just let her go."

Tay Eming chuckled, helping her align the rocks. "Alright, little engineer, let's see what we can calculate."

Samantha nodded solemnly. "Yes! Mama said ideas need action!"

Later, in the city, Mau entered a meeting with a group of high-profile investors. She presented the final designs for the next collection.

"And here, we integrate sustainable bamboo fibers from local communities," Mau said confidently. "The project is expected to scale globally, while directly benefiting villages in the Sierra Madre."

An investor leaned forward. "Ms. Mau, this is ambitious, but what about the supply chain?"

Mau smiled. "We already tested it. Tim and I have coordinated with Tay Eming and local communities. We respect the craft, ensure fair compensation, and guarantee reliability."

Tim, sitting beside her, whispered: "I think Samantha taught you more than any boardroom ever could."

Mau chuckled softly. "She teaches me every day. And she doesn't even know it."

That evening, Samantha returned to the city with Tay Eming and her grandparents. She immediately ran to Mau, holding a small device she had cobbled together from toy blocks and bits of string.

"Look, Mama! It's a squirrel bridge alert system! If a squirrel falls, the alert will beep!"

Mau crouched beside her, trying to stifle her laughter. "An alert system for squirrels?"

"Yes!" Samantha nodded solemnly. "Squirrels are important, Mama!"

Tim laughed from the doorway. "And here I thought our biggest challenge was global expansion."

Samantha tossed a crumpled note at him. "Papa! You need to approve this! Safety first!"

Later that night, the three of them curled up on the living room rug. Samantha was sketching forest plans, Mau reviewed designs for the next collection, and Tim tried (and mostly failed) to build a mini candy machine prototype for Samantha.

"You know," Mau said softly, "managing the empire is one thing. But teaching Samantha to love her roots, to explore, to create… that's another challenge entirely."

Tim kissed her forehead. "She's going to be unstoppable, just like you."

Samantha looked up, holding a crayon in her tiny hand. "Mama! Papa! One day, I'm going to have an invention that will make the whole world laugh and be happy!"

Mau laughed, hugging her tight. "And you will, little genius. You absolutely will."

Tim wrapped his arms around both of them. "We'll be here for every step, Sam."

As Samantha drifted off to sleep that night, Mau and Tim looked at each other, quietly marveling at the life they had created.

"I think it's working," Mau whispered. "City empire, forest adventures, and a genius daughter in between."

Tim laughed softly. "And we haven't even started on her candy machine yet."

Mau shook her head, smiling. "Let's survive that next."

The three of them sat by the window, city lights below, stars above, and the mountains guarding their hearts behind them—a perfect balance of roots, love, and ambition.
