Chapter 98 - Double Trouble Arrives

The morning sun streamed through the hospital windows, catching the polished floors of the maternity wing as Mau clutched Tim's hand. Her breathing was steady, though her eyes sparkled with a mix of excitement and nerves.

"Ready, Tim?" she asked, squeezing his hand.

Tim nodded, trying to suppress his panic while smiling. "As ready as one can be… I think. Twins, Mau… two little humans… double trouble."

Mau laughed softly. "Double trouble indeed. But I trust you to survive it."

Meanwhile, Samantha was pacing outside the delivery room, notebook in hand. She had prepared a "welcome plan" for her little siblings, complete with candy dispensers, safety nets, and a detailed forest-inspired layout for the nursery.

"Mama! Papa! I already built bridges for them in my notebook!" Samantha exclaimed to the nurse trying to guide her.

The nurse smiled patiently. "I think your siblings are going to be very lucky."

Samantha's eyes sparkled. "Lucky? Of course! They're going to have me as their genius big sister!"

Hours later, the nurse emerged with the first announcement.

"It's a boy… and… another boy!" she declared with a smile.

Samantha's jaw dropped. "Two boys? Two?! That's… double the candy, double the inventions, double… everything!"

Tim turned pale. "Yes… double the everything."

Mau, exhausted but glowing, laughed through her tears. "Meet your little brothers, Samantha."

Samantha rushed forward, pressing her tiny hands against the bassinet. "Hi! I'm your sister! And you need candy! And bridges! And…" She paused, blinking at the tiny boys, who yawned in perfect unison. "They're… small. But… already trouble, aren't they?"

Tim groaned. "Yes. Absolutely. And they don't even have teeth yet."

Mau laughed, reaching out to cradle one of the twins. "Welcome to the world, little ones. You've got a big sister who's already bossy enough for three."

Samantha puffed out her chest proudly. "I'm officially in charge! And Papa… you are… assistant!"

Later, as the family navigated the hospital corridors, Samantha's curiosity wandered beyond her little brothers. She spotted a boy her age sitting quietly with his parents, reading a picture book about forest animals.

Samantha stopped abruptly. "Mama… Papa… look! He has a squirrel book! And a hat like mine!"

Tim glanced over, smiling. "Samantha's already making friends… even with double trouble waiting for her at home."

Samantha's eyes widened. "Mama, I think… he's interesting. Do you think he likes squirrels too?"

Mau chuckled. "Maybe he does. But today… we have a bigger mission: making sure your brothers survive their first day in the world."

Samantha nodded seriously. "Mission accepted. But maybe later… squirrel diplomacy."

Back in the hospital room, the twins slept peacefully between Mau and Tim, while Samantha inspected their tiny fingers, tails of blankets, and soft tufts of hair.

"They're perfect," Samantha whispered, patting both gently. "But… they need candy… and… training!"

Tim shook his head, laughing. "Candy and training… yes, very essential. They might be awake for the next twelve hours now."

Mau smiled, exhausted but radiant. "Our family… complete. Full of love, chaos, and genius."

Samantha looked at her parents and the tiny twins, her eyes sparkling. "I think… this is going to be the best adventure ever!"

Tim wrapped his arm around Mau, holding her close. "And it's just the beginning. Double trouble indeed."

Samantha glanced back at the boy in the corridor one more time, silently planning future adventures. But for now, her little brothers had claimed all her attention—and she couldn't be happier.

The city hummed outside, the forest whispered in the distance, and the White family had officially grown—chaos, laughter, love, and a pair of tiny boys ready to follow their genius big sister's lead.
