Chapter 17 - SSS Space Affinity: The World’s Greatest Cheat Appears Early

[Congratulations Master! You did it! You really conquered your first heroine's mother!]

[Ding! Beginning the Awakening of Your Origin Path.]

[Heroine's mother, Evelyn, belonged to the Ability Awakener Origin Path.]

[Awakening an origin ability belonging to the Ability Awakener Path.]

[Congratulations Master! You have awakened the SSS-rank ability — space affinity.]

[Space Affinity: A unique mastery over the elements of space, granting one increased proficiency towards the space element and knowledge about space-related techniques.]

Reading through the system information, Logan was quietly amazed.

Space affinity…

This was something that even the protagonist didn't awaken until the latter stages of the novel.

But he? He had awakened it right at the start.

That wasn't just luck… it was the whole universe… his universe, pushing him towards the top.

A smile touched Logan's lips as he read through the system's words.

After his 'session' with Evelyn, he was already exhausted. As such, he relaxed his muscles slightly, then walked to the kitchen, took a bowl of cold water, before heading towards the room.

Understanding that Evelyn would be exhausted after their passionate encounter, Logan covered her with a light duvet, then drifted off to sleep.

Time passed quietly.

The turmoil in the outside world was of no concern to Logan…

His new plan was to wake up, then begin exploring his space affinity.

There was a little disadvantage to having a space affinity this early on in the novel. The disadvantage was that the techniques weren't much too available.

Space affinity, space element, the space overlord portion, and space beasts or void beast… anything related to space were rare in this world.

As such… it would normally be difficult for Logan to obtain the required techniques.

However, who was Logan?

The author of the novel in question.

He knew just the perfect place to obtain a few space techniques.

Moreover… there was even an S-rank technique amongst them.

Gradually, with the sun dragging below the horizon, signalling the commencement of the evening, Logan finally stirred awake.

His heavy eyelids gradually lifted up, the warm glow of the moon bathing him silently in its radiance.

Recalling all that had happened so far, Logan couldn't help feeling slightly warm in his heart.

Everything had happened so smoothly so far that he couldn't help but feel amazed at his efficiency.

In barely a few days, he had conquered his first heroine… it almost seemed… too easy?

Logan shook his head, not willing to dwell on such thoughts.

He stood up, feeling refreshed.

Thinking that Evelyn was still in the parlor, he walked out after taking a shower, with a towel casually wiping his head.

However, as soon as he entered into the parlor, he froze slightly.

"Where did she go?" Logan furrowed his brows ever so slightly, glancing at his surroundings in suspicion.

He went to the kitchen, then scanned the remaining areas of the apartment, but still didn't find Evelyn.

'What's going on?' Logan thought in confusion.

Quickly dressing up, he went to the training ground, but still didn't spot Evelyn.

At this moment, Logan was already starting to get worried, believing that something must have really gone wrong.

He quickly dialed a call across to the receptionist who picked up moments later.

Explaining the situation to the receptionist, he soon received a reply.

"Yes, mister. We saw her walking out of the hotel early on. She didn't seem to be in a good mood and our reports say she went deeper into the woods after leaving the hotel."

Her words caused Logan to narrow his eyes in suspicion, however he maintained the same facial expression.

"Thank you for the information." He thanked her lightly, then turned off the call.

After the call was over, he fell into deep thought.

Pondering slightly, he quickly dressed, then rushed out of the hotel as well.

He had a feeling that something was definitely wrong.

Evelyn knew that they were still being chased by her brother-in-law, she wouldn't have walked away from the hotel like that.

'Could it be because she was embarrassed after our passionate time together?' Logan murmured to himself.

He noticed the bustling atmosphere of the hotel even as he walked out.

Ladies in striped skirts dancing about, and men drinking wine and trying their best to get rid of their worries for the day.

This was the kind of world Logan had created.

It was a mix between an advanced technological world, and a medieval type setting.

Logan didn't linger much on this as he strode out.

The skies were dark, thankfully he noticed a street merchant with a few torches hanging on his side.

"Hey, can I borrow a torch, I need it quickly." Logan tried to be polite and respectful.

"That'll be a copper coin." The man said expressionlessly without looking up.

Logan clicked his tongue.

Pure midnight robbery.

A normal copper coin wouldn't go for more than a few copper coins.

The man was obviously trying to take advantage of the fact that Logan seemed to urgently need the torch to rip him off.

Logan clicked his tongue, and was pondering on how to pay him when Astra quipped in his mind.

[Master, you can just steal the torch and return it later. Using the space element, you can lightly control spatial fluctuations to a certain extent.]

Logan's eyes lit up.

His mind was too occupied that he'd almost forgotten about this.

'Thanks Astra,' Logan said internally.

Naturally, it was impossible to control the property of one's origin ability or element except with the application of origin techniques and skills.

However, as long as the grade of such an origin path was at S and above, it was completely possible, with the diverseness of how much they could control it increasing for every increase in the grade of one's awakened origin path.

As such, Logan, with an SSS-rank space affinity, could control space to an extent.

His hands twitched ever so slightly.

"Thank you." Logan said politely to the man, then no longer lingered with him.

The man looked up, then shook his head with a laugh.

It seems trying to rip off the kid didn't work as much as he wanted.

He touched the torches on his counter and grinned, then froze.

'One seems to be… missing?' He glanced up in confusion, however Logan was long gone.

"That brat… stole from me?!" a vein popped on the man's forehead in anger.

He rushed out to the street, however all he could see were passersby moving up and about.

Logan was casually long gone…
