The Unawakened Humans

Auxiliary Chapter 3 — The Unawakened: Skills and The Tier System

Not everyone who fights in this world carries a Talent. Some people never awakened. Some people were born without the genetic markers that the meteorite's substance activated. Some people simply drew the shorter straw in a world where one third of humanity got something the other two thirds did not.

Most of those people accepted it.Some did not.The ones who refused to accept it became something the world had no existing category for human beings who decided that the absence of a Talent was a problem to be solved through effort rather than a limitation to be lived with.

They trained.

They pushed their bodies and minds past every boundary that normal human physiology suggested existed. They kept going past the point where most people stopped.

They became the Unawakened. Not a weakness. A classification. A specific category of fighter who operates without supernatural ability and has closed the gap between themselves and those who carry it through nothing except sustained, deliberate work.

They are not as common as Awakened fighters. What they represent is rarer in a different way not the lottery of a Talent manifesting, but the sustained daily decision to become something extraordinary through choice alone.

Skills — What The Unawakened Develop

Where Awakened humans draw power from their Talent Pot, the Unawakened develop Skills.

A Skill is not a Talent. It cannot be awakened, transferred, or inherited through bloodline. It cannot be granted by a cosmic force or triggered by extreme emotion.

It is earned.

Built through years of extreme physical and mental conditioning. Refined through application. Perfected through repetition beyond what ordinary training produces.

Skills represent the absolute upper limit of what a human body and mind can develop without supernatural assistance. At their highest levels, they produce effects that blur the line between natural and impossible speed that exceeds visual tracking, strength that defies body weight, awareness that extends beyond the range of normal senses.

The Unawakened do not have Talent Pots.

What they have instead is something the Awakeners Police calls a Skill Threshold the current ceiling of what their trained body can produce before it begins breaking down from the effort.

Like the Talent Pot, the Skill Threshold expands through training.

Unlike the Talent Pot, it has no cosmic ceiling. It is limited only by the human body's absolute physical maximum.

Which means the best of the Unawakened are always pushing against a wall that moves.

The Unawakened Tier System

The Awakeners Police classifies its Unawakened fighters through a separate tier system that runs parallel to the Talent ranking system.

The titles are different. The logic is the same.

Each tier represents a measurable increase in capability and a new threshold of what the fighter can produce.

At the top of this system sits a title chosen very carefully by the people who built it.They chose it because they meant it.

Tier One — Initiate

The entry point.

A person who has begun serious Unawakened training and has demonstrated the foundational physical and mental conditioning required to develop Skills.

They have no Skills yet or at most one Skill at its earliest stage.

They are being shaped. Nothing has been completed.

Initiates are not deployed in serious field conditions. They are still in the building phase.

Tier Two — Strider

The first real milestone.

A Strider has developed at least one complete Skill and can reproduce it consistently under pressure. Their body has been conditioned beyond standard human physical limits.

They are deployable alongside Awakened officers and can contribute meaningfully in real engagements.

Most Unawakened officers operate at this level.

They are the foundation.

Tier Three — Vanguard

Something changes here.

A Vanguard has developed multiple Skills and more importantly, understands how to combine them. One Skill creates the conditions for another.

The result is greater than the sum of its parts.

Their Skill Threshold expands significantly, allowing them to engage Awakened fighters at C Rank and below on relatively even terms.

Vanguards are trusted operatives.

They lead.

Tier Four — Captain

Elite.

A Captain has pushed their Skill Threshold into territory that medical science does not fully understand. Their body sustains outputs it should not be able to sustain and continues functioning.

A Captain can engage A Rank Awakened fighters.

Not always win.But fight in a way where the outcome is not predetermined. There are very few Wardens in the Republic of Edenia. Each one matters.

Tier Five — Shadow

The rarest active classification.

A Shadow operates at a level where prediction becomes nearly impossible. Not invisible but unreadable.Speed. Precision. Adaptability. All of it refined to a point where reacting to them becomes a problem in itself.Their Skill Threshold sits at the absolute edge of human capability.

A Shadow can engage S Rank Awakened fighters. The fight won't be equal. But it won't be short either.Fewer than ten have ever existed at the same time.

Tier Six — Apostle Slayer

This title exists. An Apostle Slayer is the theoretical peak of the Unawakened a human who has pushed beyond every natural limitation without relying on a Talent. Not superhuman because of power. But because of refusal. An Apostle a Divine Class user at 100% is the greatest power a human body can carry.

The creators of this system believed there could exist someone who could meet that power… without one.

They called that person an Apostle Slayer.

Because the Unawakened do not accept limits. That is their nature.

A Simple Reference

Tier Title What It Means

One Initiate Training begun. No complete Skills yet.

Two Strider First Skill. Field deployable.

Three Vanguard Multiple Skills. Engages C Rank.

Four Captain Elite output. Engages A Rank.

Five Shadow Peak human conditioning. Engages S Rank.

Six Apostle Slayer Beyond all limits. Answer to Divine Class.

One Final Note

The Unawakened and the Awakened are not enemies. They serve the same organisation. They protect the same Republic. They fight side by side. But there is something unspoken between them.A quiet tension that exists in every training room, every mission, every moment where a human without power stands in front of someone who was given it and refuses to step back.

The conversation is simple. You were given something.

I built something.
