Zephyr glanced through the window and noticed that the storm had finally calmed. The furious winds that had battered the settlement throughout the night were now nothing more than a gentle breeze.
"Maybe we can go outside now. It looks clear," he reported.
Julian nodded. In his hands was a large leaf being used as a plate, with noodles carefully piled on top of it.
"But we're not leaving without eating first. That includes you too, Tessa. I'm sure you're feeling a little better now?"
Leonard sat beside her, gently massaging her shoulders and the sides of her stomach where the pain kept coming from. Somehow he had found exactly the right spots. The discomfort slowly eased beneath his touch, and Tessa found herself relaxing despite everything.
Still, when she looked down at the noodles in front of her, her stomach immediately twisted.
"I don't feel like eating that," she complained.
