Kenzo ignored the curious and whispering gazes of the surrounding guests, carefully placing Evelyn in front of an empty seat. "Don't worry about it. What trouble could this possibly be?"
He hadn't forgotten that back when he was framed at the company, it was Evelyn who had stepped forward to clear his name.
Because the height of the wheelchair matched the dining chair, Evelyn didn't bother moving down, simply asking him to slide the original chair out of the way.
Mary Donald sat down beside her, taking hold of the wheelchair handles and setting them in place.
"You should get back to your duties! Mary will take care of me," Evelyn said, gently pushing Kenzo along.
With so many high-profile guests arriving, Kenzo nodded in understanding and excused himself to resume greeting attendees.
