Chapter 9 - Episode 15

Kael's POV

It was official. I had found a new plaything. I had spent the last six days and nothing seemed to trigger the curiousity that Renshi had brewing in me.

Plus I was yet to discover a similar scent to his. I had purchased every body wash, cream and perfume there was and nothing came close. In the end, I had it distributed to the servants in the main house. My mother seemed to be shocked but I owed no one an explanation.

And so to satisfy my curiosity, I had asked my driver to take me to his stall. I stood at the door but couldn't catch a glimpse of him. I only saw a woman who bore a huge resemblance to him. Seems like the silver hair was in the family.

I had actually thought he faked it. Good to know.

I walked in and looked around, thinking maybe he was in another area I didn't know of when the lady with the silver hair up walked to me.

"How may I help you?"

I kept quiet as I looked at her from head to toe. She barely made it to my shoulder up close. I couldn't bring myself to answer her as the urge to leave teared through me.

But I couldn't bring myself to leave abruptly. Not with the way she was staring at me.

I was never considerate of peoples feelings. I didn't do feelings.

But the thought she might tell Akira what occurred here today forced me to stand and listen to her.

What the hell was wrong with me?

"I'm looking for Akira. It's business"

"Ohh. I hope he's not in trouble though"

Good of her not to reveal his whereabouts first. Trouble? There's nothing like trouble when he has me.

The thought made my eyes widen. What the actual heck is wrong with me?

I schooled my expression and turned to her once more; "It's work related. There's no trouble."

She finally smiled as she picked up her phone and called him. Apparently they lived close by and he was practicing. She tried telling him to come by but I stopped her and instead asked for the directions to their place instead.

Only when I revealed that I was working with him did she finally give me the information I needed with a smile on her face.

Unable to take it anymore, I quickly walked into the car as I took in hurried breaths to calm myself down.

Without his scent there, everything was disgusting. It made me wonder how I had been able to stand it before.

And it almost made me quit my search but I needed to get to the root of this.

Why was it that out of everyone, it was him who managed to catch my attention? And what the fuck did he do to get that scent?

I was yet to identify what the scent was, but it uniquely belonged to him and that was what seemed to be the reason why he was constantly in my thoughts.

Yeah, that must be it. His scent was the only reason why he was on my mind. That explained it.

Yeah. That scent was what I needed to find. Then everything would go back to how it was.

*** ***

The car pulled over as I took in the house that matched the address I was given. How could anyone even survive here?

I swallowed the contempt and bile and forced myself to open the door and exit the car. I walked into complex and made my way to the back.

According to his mum, there was enough space for him to practice there so he spent most of his free time at the spot.

And she wasn't lying. I hadn't even gone close when I caught a sniff of the scent that had invading my mind all along. And the closer I got there, the stronger the scent.

I looked up and finally saw the object of my curiosity as he fiddled with a sword. Main looking at it, I could tell it was an upgraded sword.

Interesting. But where did he find himself one?

"Losen your grip. It should be an extension of you and not just a weapon"

He stumbled and fell as he looked at me with a shocked expression.

"How the hell did you find my home? And what are you doing here?"

I ignored his outburst as I held out my hand as an offer to help him up. He glanced at me as a few seconds passed before he finally held onto my hand and I dragged him up.

Using the opportunity, I quickly placed my face at the crook of his neck as his scent engulfed me.

And in that moment, I knew I would go feral for it.
