Inside the Parlor Car, March 7th let out a cheer.
Dan Heng only spared her a brief glance. His mind had yet to fully settle. The image of Blade holding his sword with that cold sneer was still burned into his memory.
The new main story had already called out his name. He wondered what kind of conclusion awaited the two of them on the Xianzhou.
Right now, Dan Heng felt a sense of powerlessness against fate. To be more precise, it felt like being roasted over an open fire. He hoped the plot would reach his part quickly. Whether it was life or death, he wanted a quick resolution.
In Dan Heng's view, the coming story would likely involve chaos on the Xianzhou Luofu and a final showdown between himself and Blade. His companions on the Express would surely come to help. The result... would either be a victory or a mutual destruction.
If his companions were hurt because of him... that was a result he could not accept.
"If I can learn the outcome in advance, perhaps I can prevent that ending." Dan Heng sank back into his brooding thoughts.
On the other side, March 7th seemed completely carefree. She excitedly checked the results of her Warp. Stelle was right beside her, watching with anticipation.
"It should be the next one!"
"Ready?"
March 7th nodded vigorously. As her finger pressed down, five golden stars exploded across the screen! The background pattern represented [The Erudition].
March 7th recognized it instantly. She was beyond excited!
"Erudition! It's Erudition! Out of the seven 5-star characters, only Himeko is Erudition! I pulled Himeko!"
Himeko, sitting on the sofa, glanced at March 7th with a helpless smile. "That's a strange thing to say," she murmured to herself.
As the light faded, the result was indeed related to Himeko. However, it wasn't the character [Himeko].
It was a 5-star Light Cone[Night on the Milky Way].
The artwork showed Himeko sitting casually on the front of the Express, her white dress spread beneath her. Her long red hair flowed freely as she gazed intently at the starry sky. The stars left circular trails across the galaxy.
"Whoa~" March 7th leaned so close to the screen she looked like she wanted to dive inside. "It's Himeko's signature Light Cone! It's so pretty..."
Stelle nodded in approval. "This pull was worth it."
"But... I don't have Himeko yet. I feel like only Himeko is worthy of this Light Cone... Oh, I get it! This is the developer's trap! He gives me the signature Light Cone first to force me to top up for the character! Dammit! I know his game, but I still want to spend money!"
Just then, Himeko spoke up to remind them, "The new story segment is starting. Are you two coming to watch?"
"Coming!" March 7th and Stelle answered in unison.
They immediately put down their phones. Everyone lined up on the sofa, Pom-Pom included, and began to watch the new plot unfold.
The first to appear on screen was Pom-Pom.
"Attention, passengers! The Warp Route Meeting is now officially in session!"
"First, Pom-Pom would like to thank the Nameless for resolving the issues at this station, allowing the Express to continue racing along the Star Rail!"
"Next, the Captain shall announce our next destination"
Just as everyone held their breath, waiting for Pom-Pom to speak the name, a hologram of a woman suddenly appeared. She held a black umbrella in one hand. From beneath its rim, an exquisite face revealed a gentle smile.
"Long time no see, everyone on the Astral Express."
"I am Kafka."
"Ah, the timing is perfect. Everyone is heremostly, it seems."
Carrying her umbrella, she walked past the group.
"A charming self-introduction is hardly necessary, Stellaron Hunter," Himeko said, her gaze unfriendly as she stared at Kafka.
Kafka didn't seem to mind. She smiled softly. "Himeko, right? I'm sorry to interrupt your gathering, but I believe that once you hear my request, you'll understand my intrusion."
"I've come to ask you to... change your destination."
"You've come to the wrong place, Kafka. We have no intention of accepting your requests, nor do we wish to associate with the Stellaron Hunters. It's been a pleasure chatting, but perhaps if you'd like to visit in person one day, we can talk then." Himeko's aura was incredibly imposing.
Kafka smiled slightly. "Everyone, have you heard of the [Luofu]?"
Watching this scene play out, the Express crew had a variety of expressions. The live stream was being projected directly into the car, and since the scene itself took place in a mirrored version of the Parlor Car, it felt as if the game's plot was happening in real life. Fortunately, the presence of subtitles in the game helped maintain a clear distinction between the game and reality.
March 7th gasped. "It's that woman! And she's asking us to change our destination... We aren't actually going to listen to her and go to the Luofu, are we? I don't want to be led around by the nose by her!"
Pom-Pom jumped up from the sofa. "Passenger March is right! The Stellaron Hunters are dangerous, and [Yu Ling] isn't much better! Pom-Pom's suggestion isstick to our original choice and head straight for Penacony!"
Seeing the Captain on her side, March 7th felt even more emboldened. "If Kafka actually showed up on our train like she did in the story... I'dI'd definitely give her a taste of my bat first!"
Stelle blinked. "Wait, I feel like you just stole my line?"
At that exact moment, particles of light began to flicker at the other end of the car. A holographic projection materialized before everyone's eyes.
The figure was none other than Kafka!
Between the game stream and the live projection, there were now two Kafkas in the car! They stood facing each other like reflections in a mirror.
March 7th stood there, mouth agape. She had just finished talking big, and the real Kafka had arrived! Talk about seeing a ghost!
Stelle looked back and forth between the two. She licked her lips slightly.
"Two Kafkas? Two mamas!"
"Double the happiness!"
