Chapter 5 - Chapter 1.5: The engagement (Part 5)

Star stared in shock as the young man barged through the throne rooms' doors, ignoring the warning cries of the guards standing by, as well as acting so…unbothered by the fact that both the guards and her parents were staring daggers at him.

As he walked up to her, Star couldn't help but think that the boldness and the sheer stupidity this young man has shown thus far, was yes, kind of annoying, but also..

She found it endearing.

As the man approached her and told her about Kais' condition, her first initial thought was worry for her dear friend, but looking at the cadet in front of her, she couldn't help but want to tease him and Sky a little.

"What is your name, knight?"

To which he replied, "My name is Taiyo, Taiyo of St Grant.", while taking her outstretched hand, much to the shock, disbelief and anger of her parents and Sky. How cute.

I would have liked to tease him more, but, She frowned, Kais' safety is priority.

"Lead the way." Taiyo, she hummed, a smile creeping up her lips as she followed the knight through the corridors, passing many other cadets and instructors, but not a single mage or healer in sight? Hmm..I'll have to look into this later.

Star entered the courtyard, shielding her eyes from the blazing sun above, squinting her eyes in search for her best friend, her line of sight finally landing on a tall man sitting next to a fallen figure on the bench. Oh no.

"Kai!" She ran towards to duo as fast as she could, not caring about the mud and dirt getting stuck on her dress, Please don't let me be too late. "Kai! Kenshin!" Kneeling by Kais' stiff figure, Star scanned the wounds on her best friends body, noting multiple cuts, bruises, and scratches on her once flawless skin, but the most gruesomely notable wound that even a blind man can see, were the painfully broken fists and wrists the captain sported, both of them bleeding like a bloody nigeria falls, with some cuts on the arms so deep, Star could see through her tissues and muscles.

Taking a deep breath while readying herself for the most powerful healing spell she could muster, "How did she become like this Kenshin?" An aura outburst probably, thats the most plausible reason right now.

Kenshin sighed, rubbing his slightly bruised knuckles, "Aura outburst, she couldn't control the Qi from overflowing." Glancing at Kai, he smiled sadly. "That stupid daughter of mine really needs to learn when to stop overworking herself." Oh Kai.. Star sighed, feeling that her friend will most likely not listen to a single word of anyone' s warnings, nor will she stop trying to work so hard.

"High heal." Star stretched out her palms, a glowing light blue magic circle appeared out of thin air, inches away from the center of her palms, embedded with thousands of tiny magic symbols, with a soft green light emitting from the center of the circle.

As she muttered the words, the color washed over Kais' body, erasing her previous wounds in waves of light, noticeably easing her body as a content look took over her friends' facial features instead of the initial pained, gritting-teeth frown. But the most easily noticeable change was how Kais' once bloody fingers, knuckles and arms are now clean of blood, and perfectly fine, as if nothing had happened at all. What a relief.

Star leaned back, heartbeat finally calming down once she confirmed that the captains' breathing and pulse resumed to normal. Then, she turned her attention to the General next to her, a cold glare replacing the former caring smile she showed to Kai just now.

"General Kenshin." She started, making the seasoned warrior flinch at the mere tone of her voice, or was it the cold smile she was giving him right now? Either way, Kenshin deeply wished that he was the one beaten in this fight, because, he thought, imaginary sweat running down his face as he spluttered anxiously, Lady Star is really terrifying when it comes to Kai getting hurt.

"Yes m'lady?" He muttered, the once strong, stoic knight now reduced to a stammering man when standing in front of the 'Demonic lady', one of the many titles the cadets and their instructors had given her after witnessing her many amazing feats. Demon wolf Kai and her master, the Demonic lady Star. He sighed as he resigned himself to the harsh scolding that awaits him. What a terrifying pair.
