A large, warm hand landed on my shoulder and I turned to find Sean looking down at me with a sympathetic smile. I returned it as best I could but kept my gaze mostly downward as Phoenix continued speaking.
"I expect you all to carry on as normal. Nothing will change except that you report to your Beta or Gamma when needed. You are all dismissed."
The crowd began to murmur around us. I caught a few quiet comments about how serious the situation must be if Phoenix himself had to go and help. What surprised me was how many wolves said without hesitation that they would gladly go with him to fight. Then I remembered where I was. This was a warrior pack. Not my old pack.
A small group gathered around Phoenix after that, and he said a few words to them before they dispersed.
"Come on, Nova." Sean's hand moved to the small of my back as he guided me toward the entrance. "Let's head inside."
