Chapter 2 - Chapter 2.

Episode 2: A Name That Lingers

Morning came, but peace did not.

Samuel sat at the edge of his bed, already dressed for the day, yet unmoving. The sun had replaced the rain, but his mind was still trapped in that moment… that encounter… that voice.

"Zara…"

He said her name softly, as if afraid it would disappear if spoken too loudly.

It felt strange.

How could someone he met for only a few minutes stay so deeply in his heart?

He shook his head, trying to focus.

"This is not normal," he muttered.

But deep inside… it didn't feel wrong.

It felt… divine.

All through the day, Samuel searched.

Not in an obvious way—he didn't even know where to begin—but his eyes noticed everything. Every face. Every voice. Every corner of the streets.

At the market…

At the bus stop…

Even at a small gathering near his workplace…

But she wasn't there.

By evening, his hope began to fade.

"Maybe it really was just a moment," he sighed.

But something inside him refused to let go.

That night, Samuel knelt beside his bed.

It had been a long time since he prayed like this.

Not rushed.

Not out of fear.

But from his heart.

"God… I don't understand this feeling," he said quietly.

"I don't even know her… but it feels like I do."

He paused, his voice trembling slightly.

"If she's not meant to be in my life, take this feeling away."

"But if she is…"

He closed his eyes tightly.

"Please… bring her back."

Three Days Later

Samuel was invited to a small community program by a friend. He almost didn't go—he was tired, distracted, and honestly not in the mood.

But something nudged him.

A quiet voice in his heart.

Go.

Reluctantly, he agreed.

The event wasn't anything special—just people gathered, music playing softly, conversations flowing. Samuel stood at the back, barely paying attention.

Until…

He heard a voice.

"Excuse me, please…"

His heart skipped.

That voice.

Slowly, he turned.

And there she was.

Zara.

Standing just a few steps away.

This time, she wasn't disappearing into the rain. She wasn't a passing moment.

She was real.

Right in front of him.

For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.

Just silence.

Deep, meaningful silence.

Then Zara smiled.

"You found me," she said gently.

Samuel let out a small breath, almost like he had been holding it for days.

"I think… I've been looking for you everywhere," he admitted.

She tilted her head slightly.

"Or maybe… you were led."

Those words again.

Simple… but powerful.

Samuel felt it this time more than ever.

This wasn't coincidence.

They stepped aside from the crowd and began to talk.

Not small talk.

Not awkward conversation.

But something deeper.

It flowed… naturally.

Like two souls that somehow recognized each other.

"Do you believe in God's plans?" Zara asked suddenly.

Samuel nodded slowly.

"I do… but sometimes I don't understand them."

She smiled faintly.

"Neither do I."

There was a brief silence before she continued.

"But I've learned something… when God brings someone into your life unexpectedly, it's either a blessing… or a lesson."

Samuel looked at her carefully.

"And which one do you think this is?"

Zara didn't answer immediately.

Her eyes softened.

"I'm still praying about that."

Hours passed like minutes.

They laughed.

They shared stories.

They spoke about faith, struggles, dreams…

And for the first time in a long while, Samuel felt… seen.

Not judged.

Not pressured.

Just understood.

As the event came to an end, the sky began to darken again.

Samuel looked at her, a little hesitant.

"Will I see you again?"

Zara held his gaze.

This time, there was no mystery in her voice.

"Yes."

She reached into her bag and brought out a small piece of paper.

She wrote something on it… then handed it to him.

"My number," she said.

Samuel took it carefully, like it was something precious.

"Thank you," he said sincerely.

As they parted ways, Samuel looked up at the sky.

"God…" he whispered with a small smile,

"You didn't just answer me… You surprised me."

Meanwhile…

Zara walked home slowly, her heart beating faster than usual.

She placed her hand on her chest.

"This is how it starts…" she murmured.

Her smile faded slightly.

"But please…" she whispered softly, looking up,

"let it not end the way it did before."
