It was finally the third day.
The day I had been dreading and anticipating in equal measure.
And now, despite everything, I was stepping into the Bloodfang Pack once again.
The moment I crossed the border, noise greeted me from every direction. The entire pack seemed alive with activity. Voices overlapped with one another, creating a constant buzz that filled the air. Servants hurried back and forth across the grounds, carrying flowers, fabrics, and decorations for the ceremony.
Some climbed ladders to hang banners while others rushed around with trays and boxes in their hands. Everywhere I looked, preparations were underway.
The pack house stood proudly at the center of it all, decorated far more lavishly than I remembered.
I pulled my nose mask higher over my face, making sure it covered as much of my features as possible.
The last thing I needed was someone recognizing me.
I couldn't afford that.
