Chapter 17 The First Warning from a Pervert
In the Central Mall, most of the floors were frozen solid.
Moreover, the ice was completely frozen, and since the mall's windows were all inward-opening, I walked around for hundreds of meters but couldn't find a place that could be used as an entrance.
Taking advantage of the others' inattention, Yu Miaomiao went around to the corner where the blind spot was.
She took a crowbar out of her bag and pried open a fireproof window. The howling wind just masked the sound of her knocking on the window. After putting away her tools, she turned back to find the main group.
"The window here seems loose, shall we try this side?"
Liu Pei hurriedly ran over and pulled the window open with his hand. It really could be opened; how come he hadn't noticed before?
Carelessness is the devil.
Everyone was delighted that they had good luck.
Only one person's eyes flickered slightly...
The freezing conditions have reduced the mall's explorable area to just the top two floors, which house the mall's dining and entertainment areas.
Although the shopping mall is indoors, once the power goes out, the indoor temperature becomes comparable to that outdoors. People don't die immediately, but they die because they can't withstand the cold.
The ground was a mess, showing the panic of people when the apocalypse happened. There were corpses frozen into ice sculptures everywhere, their bodies stiff and in the state they were in before they died, showing despair.
Having no suitable weapons or defensive items, and having just experienced the apocalypse, everyone was deeply moved.
They walked carefully past each corpse, as if these dead people might rise from the ground at any moment and pounce on them.
It was inconvenient to follow them, so Yu Miaomiao simply walked to Liu Pei's side and whispered that she wanted to split up and meet them at the entrance in three hours.
Seeing Liu Pei nod, Yu Miaomiao waved to them and headed in the opposite direction.
This floor has many restaurants, but the once bustling, popular eateries are now dark, dilapidated, and deserted.
Yu Miaomiao randomly walked into a shop and went straight to the kitchen. A dark figure followed her into the same shop.
"What do you want?" Yu Miaomiao pulled out a small knife and held it against the man's back.
The dark figure shuddered, then let out a lewd laugh.
"What are you doing? I came to keep you company because I was afraid you'd be scared all alone." Yuan Lixuan said, reaching behind him to try and take Yu Miaomiao's knife.
Yu Miaomiao slashed him with her knife, and Yuan Lixuan's palm immediately bled profusely, causing him to let out a pig-like scream.
People from nearby rushed over, with Yuan Yong naturally leading the way.
He knew his son was going to find that woman; she was indeed quite attractive, with delicate and smooth skin, slender and long limbs, and long legs that even he found alluring.
His son is getting on in years and still hasn't found a girlfriend. He finally managed to get him to admit he likes that girl, and he didn't want to stop him. Maybe if he got her, he could play with his son.
But she was shocked and puzzled that her son couldn't even outmaneuver a woman. As she thought about it, she quickened her pace.
When everyone arrived at the scene, Yu Miaomiao had switched to a Tang sword and was holding it to Yuan Lixuan's neck. Yuan Lixuan covered his blood-soaked hand and kept groaning.
No one expected this woman to be so fierce, and no one expected her to hide a knife in her large backpack. They all gasped in shock: thank goodness they hadn't provoked this crazy woman.
She dared not break free; the blade was sharp, and with the slightest movement, another bloody gash appeared on her neck.
"What do you want to do? Kill someone?"
Yuan Yong's eyes widened in anger, and the next second he pounced on Yu Miaomiao to snatch the Tang sword from her hand.
"Yes, why not?"
"You crazy woman, you deserve to pay with your life for murder!"
"You don't think anyone's going to come and arrest me now, do you? If you're so capable, go call the police and see if the police car gets here faster than my knife."
Liu Pei quickly stepped forward, standing between Yuan Yong and her. "What happened?"
"He can't control his lower body, so I'll teach him a lesson on behalf of his father." He said, glancing at Yuan Yong, who looked guilty and anxious.
"What kind of time is this for internal strife?"
It was Lin Miaorong who spoke. She was upset and her body ached from the cold. Besides, at a time like this, humanity should unite, not fight amongst themselves. "He didn't do anything to you, but you hurt him. He doesn't deserve this."
"Oh, okay, then you can have this man. Don't be shy."
She kicked Yuan Lixuan towards Lin Miaorong.
Yuan Lixuan staggered and fell into the woman's arms, his hand gripping her soft flesh. "Ah! You..."
The woman blushed and looked at Yu Miaomiao with an expression that was hard to tell whether it was resentment or hatred.
She shrugged indifferently and said, "Don't ever show your face in front of me again. Next time, I'll send you straight to meet the King of Hell."
Yuan Yong quickly stepped forward to help his son up, suppressing his anger.
She even wanted to go on a free shopping spree, which really ruined her good mood.
She walked past the movie theater on the top floor, saw a popcorn machine, and put it into her spatial storage.
It should still work if I plug it in when I get back; she's been wanting to try making popcorn for a while now.
The drinks and snacks from the movie theater counter were also all stored away in the space.
I left some lightweight but bulky puffed snacks and stuffed them directly into my backpack as a disguise.
