Keifer'sPOV
We finally reached the mansion, but Jayjay was still fast asleep in the backseat. I looked down at her face—after so many terrifying days in the hospital, she finally looked completely peaceful and relaxed. I really didn't want to wake her up.
Despite my injuries and the faint ache in my stitches, I carefully reached into the car, lifted her up in bridal style, and carried her inside the mansion.
"Sir..." a quiet voice called out from behind.
I turned my head slightly to see my butler standing near the hallway.
"What?" I asked in a low whisper, making sure my voice wasn't loud enough to wake Jay up.
"Your friends came over earlier, and they all slept here tonight," he informed me quietly.
"Okay," I nodded, stepping past him and heading straight upstairs to our room.
I carefully walked over to the bed, gently laid Jay down on the soft mattress, and pulled the warm blanket over her. As I did, she mumbled something softly in her sleep. Her small hand reached out and lightly wrapped her fingers around my pinky finger—like she was checking in her sleep to make sure I was really there with her.
My heart melted instantly. I leaned down and softly kissed her hands, her warm cheeks, her forehead, and the tip of her nose.
Suddenly, while keeping her eyes tightly closed, Jayjay stretched her arms out wide toward me.
"Hubby... cuddles..." she mumbled softly against her pillow.
I couldn't help but smile. I lay down on the bed beside her, and she immediately wrapped both of her arms tightly around my neck. I pressed another soft kiss onto her forehead, feeling her lips curve into a gentle smile against my chest as she drifted deeper into sleep.
After some time, the bedroom door quietly creaked open. I already knew exactly who it was before I even looked up.
"Oh, Keifer—" Ci-N started to speak loudly, but his voice cut off the moment he saw us. "Here's your food, have fun!" he squeaked, quickly setting the takeaway bag on the side table before sprinting right out the door to avoid getting hit.
I let out a low chuckle and slowly sat up, shifting Jayjay so she was leaning comfortably against my chest while still half-asleep.
"Wifey... dinner is here," I murmured softly, lightly tapping her cheek.
She weakly opened her mouth like a sleepy kid. I picked up the food and started feeding her bite by bite, taking a few bites myself in between. Once we finished eating, I set the empty containers back on the side table and lay back down beside her.
The moment my head hit the pillow, Jayjay reached up and wrapped her arms firmly around my neck again. I wrapped my arms securely around her waist, pulling her flush against me, and buried my face in the crook of her neck.
"Sleep well, my queen," I whispered quietly into her skin, and I could feel her soft smile against the top of my head as we both fell asleep.
Jayjay'sPOV
I woke up the next morning as the bright morning sunlight hit my face. I blinked against the light, frowning slightly as I tried to sit up, but a pair of strong arms around my waist immediately pulled me right back down.
I lay there for a moment, trying to gather my thoughts, when a sudden wave of memories from last night hit me all at once.
Keifer carrying me into the mansion despite his injuries.
Keifer kissing my hands, my cheeks, my forehead, and the tip of my nose.
Me asking him for cuddles like a child.
Keifer feeding me dinner while I was half-asleep.
And now... us lying together like this.
My face instantly flared hot with embarrassment.
Suddenly, Keifer shifted beside me, nuzzling his head sleepily deeper into my neck. I looked down at him, and a small, genuine smile crept onto my face as I stared at his dark hair buried against me. I leaned down and pressed a soft kiss onto the top of his head. Without thinking too much, I ran my fingers gently through his hair, feeling his body relax completely under my touch.
After a little while, I gently shook his shoulder.
"Keifer, wake up," I said, my voice coming out soft and gentle all on its own.
"Five more minutes, wifey... please," he mumbled sleepily into my skin.
I nodded above his head, giving in easily. "Okay, hubby."
His arms around my waist tightened even more—even while completely half-asleep, this guy was ridiculously possessive.
After exact five minutes, I shook his shoulder again. "It's been five minutes."
"Fine..." he let out a long sigh and slowly sat up.
I sat up beside him cross-legged on the bed. Before I could even move, Keifer wrapped his long arms right back around my waist and rested his heavy head straight onto my shoulder. I reached up, cupped his face in my hands, and pressed a kiss onto his cheek.
"The other one too," he muttered, keeping his eyes closed with a small, satisfied smile on his face.
I smiled and leaned over to kiss his other cheek too.
"Keifer..." I called out softly.
"Hmm?" he replied sleepily against my shoulder.
"Why didn't you drive carefully that day?" I asked, bringing my fist up and punching his chest lightly.
"Because my wifey was mad at me," he answered smoothly.
"You've used that exact excuse so many times now!" I said, rolling my eyes.
"It's not an excuse, it's the reality," Keifer murmured, his dark eyes slowly opening to look at me. "If you're mad at me and I die... even my corpse would stand right up just to convince you."
I stared at him in complete shock, my jaw dropping as his words sank in.
"Shut up! Don't say terrible things like that!" I snapped, bringing my fist up and punching his chest again, harder this time. "Die? Corpse? Mark Keifer Watson, do you think it's funny to talk about dying after you literally spent five whole days in a coma?!"
Fresh tears stung the corners of my eyes as the terrifying memory of holding his cold hand in the hospital rushed back into my mind.
Keifer's playful expression instantly faded. Seeing my teary eyes, he quickly reached up, cupping both sides of my face with his warm hands, his thumbs gently wiping away the unshed tears.
"Hey... I'm sorry," he whispered softly, his voice full of genuine regret. "I was just joking, Jay. Look at me... I'm right here. I'm completely fine."
"You don't know how much worried I was in that damn hospital, holding your cold hand for five days" I sniffed, he reached to the table and grabbed a tissue then wiped my nose.
"I'm sorry now stop crying" he said softly "I'm sitting in front of you, fine and healthy" he said.
"Still It's not funny," I sniffled, glaring at him through my watery eyes. "If anything ever happens to you again because of your stupid carelessness, I will never forgive you. Do you hear me?"
"I hear you, wifey," Keifer murmured gently. He leaned forward and pressed a lingering kiss right onto the center of my forehead, holding me close until my shaky breathing finally slowed down. "I promise I'll be careful from now on. I won't leave you alone."
I let out a soft huff, resting my head against his shoulder and wrapping my arms tightly around his neck.
Just as the quiet, cozy mood returned to the room, a loud, obnoxious BANG echoed through the hallway outside our door.
"KEIFER! JAYJAY! ARE YOU GUYS ALIVE IN THERE?!" Ci-N's loud, squeaky voice shouted from the corridor, followed by the sound of heavy footsteps running down the hall.
"Ci-N, shut up! They're probably still sleeping, you idiot!" Aries' angry voice boomed right after.
"Or maybe they're doing husband-and-wife stuff! Hahaha!" Percy's teasing laugh joined in.
My cheeks instantly burst into a burning red blush. I pulled back from Keifer's neck, looking toward the closed bedroom door in utter embarrassment.
Keifer, on the other hand, just let out a heavy, annoyed sigh. He closed his eyes, rubbing the bridge of his nose like he was getting a massive headache.
"Section E..." Keifer muttered under his breath, his dark eyes narrowing at the door. "They really don't know the meaning of privacy, do they?"
I couldn't help but let out a quiet giggle at his frustrated expression, all my earlier sadness completely vanishing.
"Well," I said, patting his cheek playfully. "You heard them, hubby. The ulupongs are awake, which means our peaceful morning is officially over!"
Before Keifer could even attempt to drag me back into the blankets for more cuddles, a loud kick slammed against our bedroom door.
"OOF! MY TOE! WHY IS THIS DOOR MADE OF SOLID OAK?!" Felix's dramatic scream echoed straight through the wood.
"Because it's a mansion, you broke idiot! Move over, let a real man open it!" Yuri yelled back.
CLICK.
The lock hadn't even finished disengaging before the door burst wide open, hitting the stopper with a loud THUD. In flooded the entire walking circus known as Section E.
Ci-N was leading the parade, wearing a mismatched oversized hoodie and holding a literal wooden spoon like a microphone. Right behind him were Felix, Yuri, Eren, and Edrix, while Aries, Percy, and Calix leaned lazily against the doorframe, watching the madness unfold with amused smirks.
"GOOD MORNING, LOVEBIRDS!" Ci-N squeaked at the top of his lungs, marching straight toward the king-sized bed. "The sun is up, the birds are singing, and the ulupongs are starving! Time to wake up and feed your loyal subjects!"
Keifer didn't even open his eyes. He just slowly reached over, grabbed a heavy plush pillow, and hurled it with deadly precision straight at Ci-N's face.
PAK!
"AAAGH! ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT!" Ci-N shrieked, dramatically falling backward onto Felix, who ended up stumbling and knocking into Eren. Within two seconds, three of them were a tangled pile of limbs on our bedroom carpet.
"Serves you right, brat," Aries muttered from the doorway, crossing his arms. He looked over at me and gave a small nod. "Morning, Jay. Did the king treat you okay, or do I need to beat him up for you?"
"He's being a giant baby, as usual," I said with a laugh, sliding out of bed.
The moment my feet touched the floor, Keifer's arm shot out like a lightning bolt, wrapping firmly around my waist and pulling me right back onto the mattress. He buried his face into the back of my waist, letting out a low, dangerous growl.
"No. Stay," Keifer grumbled into my shirt, his grip like iron.
"Keifer, let go! Our friends are literally sitting on our floor!" I yelled, trying to pry his long fingers off me, but he wouldn't budge an inch.
"Who cares about them? Tell them to leave," Keifer muttered smoothly, keeping his eyes shut.
"EH?! KEIFER WATSON!" Felix gasped from the floor, clutching his chest in mock heartbreak. "After we stayed up all night in your living room eating instant noodles and protecting your house from evil spirits, you're kicking us out for your wife?!"
"Yes," Keifer answered instantly, without a single second of hesitation.
The whole room erupted into loud groans and fake crying.
"Unbelievable! He recovers from a coma and immediately loses his loyalty!" Yuri dramatically wiped an imaginary tear.
"That's it, Section E! We're being evicted! Pack up the stolen snacks, boys!" Edrix shouted, grabbing a box of biscuits off our side table.
"Put that back, Edrix, before I cut your hand off," Keifer warned, his dark eyes snapping open just a sliver. The sharp, cold tone of the Boss returned for a split second, making Edrix instantly drop the biscuit box back onto the table like it was a live grenade.
I couldn't stop laughing at how easily he could switch from a clingy baby to the terrifying leader of Section E. I looked over at Yuri, and he immediately understood the assignment. He started ushering everyone out of the room, shutting the door tightly behind them.
Once they were gone, I turned around, cupped Keifer's face in my hands, and pressed a firm kiss right on his forehead.
"Hubby, let me go wash my face and get breakfast started," I whispered softly, giving him my best persuasive look. "If you let me go now, I'll make your favorite."
Keifer stared into my eyes for a long moment, visibly weighing his options. Finally, with a dramatic, heavy sigh, his grip loosened around my waist. "Fine. But you owe me."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," I giggled, quickly popping off the bed before he could change his mind and running straight into the bathroom.
Behind the closed bathroom door, I could hear Aries yelling at the guys to clear out of the master bedroom, while Ci-N complained about how Keifer threw the pillow too hard. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and tied my hair up into a messy bun. Looking at my reflection in the mirror, my cheeks were still slightly pink, but a bright, genuine smile was plastered across my face. Even with them downstairs, I could still hear their loud, chaotic voices.
For the first time in over a week, the heavy dark cloud hanging over us was completely gone. Keifer was alive, he was back home, and Section E was back to their usual noisy selves.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, Keifer was sitting on the edge of the bed, wearing a simple black t-shirt and grey sweatpants, looking remarkably handsome despite his messy bedhead.
He looked up as I walked over, I sat beside him, he still looked tired and exhausted, he layed his head in my lap and closed his eyes.
I don't know what this is but I feel so good when he shows affection, when he sleeps in my lap.
"Feel better?" I asked softly, running my fingers through his dark hair.
"Slightly," Keifer murmured, resting his chin on my shoulder. "Though it would be much better if those idiots weren't downstairs."
"They came because they were worried about you, you know," I reminded him gently, poking his cheek. "Even if they act like complete fools, they love you."
"I know," Keifer sighed, a faint, tender smile playing on his lips. "Doesn't mean they aren't annoying."
"Come on, King of Snakes," I teased, standing up and tugging on his hand. "Let's go feed the zoo."
After everyone finished eating and cleared their plates, the guys immediately pulled out their phones at the dining table to call their girlfriends over to the mansion.
Edrix called Freya, Aries called Ella, Yuri called Sakki, Ci-N called Rakki, Calix called Mica, and Percy called Honey. Within half an hour, all six girls had arrived, instantly turning the mansion's living area into a lively gathering.
Before long, the group naturally split into two separate circles in the grand living room.
The guys sat on one side near the couches talking about guy stuff, while we girls gathered on the plush carpets and loungers on the other side to hang out and gossip.
"So..." Ella started with a mischievous grin, nudging Freya with her elbow. "Are we going to talk about how Edrix wouldn't stop staring at his phone every two minutes just to check if you texted him back?"
"Oh, please! He was literally pacing back and forth in the kitchen earlier like a lost puppy!" Mica chimed in, laughing.
Freya's cheeks flushed bright red, and she dramatically rolled her eyes at them. "Can you guys give it a rest? He was just asking if I wanted anything from the bakery. He's not that dramatic."
"Girl, he is definitely that dramatic when it comes to you," Sakki teased, making Rakki and Honey burst into giggles while Freya buried her face in a couch pillow to hide her blush.
Watching them laugh and tease each other brought a soft smile to my face. "Honestly, it's just nice seeing all of you here," I said softly, looking around at the girls. "The past few days were so stressful, but having everyone together makes it feel like things are finally back to normal."
"We're just glad Keifer's okay, Jay," Honey said gently, giving my hand a warm squeeze, and the rest of the girls nodded in sweet agreement.
While they continued chatting, my eyes naturally drifted across the room toward the guys' side.
The moment I looked over, my heart did a little flutter. Keifer was already looking straight at me. He was leaning back against the sofa, one arm resting over the back cushions, his dark eyes locked entirely onto mine. Even while listening to Aries and Percy talk, his focus was completely on me.
Seeing me catch him staring, a slow, handsome smirk spread across his face, and he raised an eyebrow at me as if asking, 'Missing me already?'
I felt my cheeks heat up, quickly looking back down at the girls and smiling to myself.
The End 🌸.
