Chapter 285 - Chapter 285: Absorbing the Ghost Woman, an incredible Hollowfication ability!

Ryan didn't reach out to take Ghost's head from Moon Knight. Instead, a sharp tentacle extended from his back, piercing into the head in Moon Knight's hand and instantly absorbing it until nothing but skin and bones remained!

After Ryan retracted the tentacle, he closed his eyes and felt the sensation for a few seconds. His body began to flicker and blur, like a glitching signal...

Finally, Ryan opened his eyes, looked at Moon Knight, and jerked his chin at him.

Moon Knight immediately understood. Without the slightest hesitation, he drew his blade and slashed it toward Ryan!

The next moment, something miraculous happened.

Moon Knight's blade felt as if it had struck empty air, passing through Ryan's body without any resistance!

Ryan felt the sensation of the blade passing through him once more before deactivating his intangibility, the corners of his mouth curling upward.

This thing was even more heaven-defying than he had imagined!

He had thought Ghost's ability was just a simple, singular superpower, but once he actually acquired it, he realized it wasn't like that at all!

Ghost's intangibility actually relied on changing her own molecular structure to achieve Phasing—that is, intangibility!

And her ability to change molecular structure didn't stop at intangibility; she could also alter the visible structure of her molecules to achieve invisibility!

Furthermore, these two abilities could be used together, allowing for not just optical camouflage, but true, absolute invisibility.

A perfect invisibility that couldn't be seen, touched, or even detected by thermal imaging!

This is even more impressive than the Invisible Woman of the Fantastic Four or Miles Morales's invisibility!

This ability was a total waste on Ghost!

Because she was too weak to control the power herself, her molecules would often fall into uncontrollable chaos, causing her immense agony!

She could only stabilize her power to some extent and use it partially by relying on the special suit S.H.I.E.L.D. (HYDRA) had made for her.

Without the suit, she couldn't even control this powerful ability!

Ryan was different. His body was strong enough, and his degree of control over his own body was far beyond what Ghost could compare to.

After obtaining this ability, not only would he not suffer the pain of molecular chaos like Ghost did, but he didn't even need some crappy suit to use the power more perfectly than she ever could!

For instance, when he used intangibility and invisibility, he didn't have the time limits Ghost did; as long as he wanted, he could remain intangible and invisible indefinitely.

Moreover, he felt that this ability to change molecular structure wasn't that simple; he had a feeling it would be of great use to him in the future...

As for what specific use it would have, he couldn't say, but he had a vague inkling from his Spider-Sense...

Ryan was never one for internal conflict; if he couldn't figure something out, he simply stopped thinking about it.

What mattered most now was getting the Ten Rings!

Ryan raised his hand and clenched it. The Space Stone on his bracelet immediately glowed with a blue light, and a spatial wormhole appeared before him.

The other side of the spatial wormhole was naturally the coordinates of the sea Base Wanda had given him.

He planned to wait at the sea Base for Shang-Chi to deliver himself to his doorstep.

It would save him the trouble of searching the whole World.

However, just before he stepped in, Moon Knight suddenly spoke up: "Are you collaborating with the Queen of the Dead?"

Ryan paused. He didn't deny it, simply saying coolly, "You don't believe her words?"

He had naturally sensed long ago that Moon Knight was eavesdropping from the shadows, but he just hadn't cared.

Because no matter what Moon Knight thought after knowing this, he couldn't change anything.

Moon Knight neither shook nor nodded his head, only saying, "Khonshu doesn't trust her..."

Hearing this, Ryan shook his head and smiled. "But this World has no other choice, does it?"

"Also, in the future, listen to that birdman less. He only pretends to know everything, but He doesn't understand humans at all, much less human nature."

"As long as she regains her self-will as a human, whether her appearance is human or not, she is human and does human things. As a Half-vampire, you should know this best..."

After saying that, Ryan didn't care if Moon Knight understood or not and stepped directly into the spatial wormhole.

Once Ryan's figure vanished, Khonshu couldn't wait to emerge from Moon Knight's body, shouting loudly:

"That damned bastard! How dare he say that I, as the Moon God, understand nothing? I think he's the one who truly knows nothing!"

"We shouldn't have cooperated with him in the first place. We should have worked with those three girls I mentioned. You shouldn't have let that guy take them away!"

"That guy is just an evil devourer who eats anything. I think he's no better than the Queen of the Dead—maybe even more loathsome. He even eats zombie flesh, did you see that?!"

Listening to the exasperated voice in his ear, Moon Knight couldn't help but shake his head. Compared to Ryan, who was always steady, in control, and gave off a sense of security, Khonshu really didn't seem like a reliable god in comparison...

"I think he might be right. He gave them a safe environment and is trying to give this World hope. And as for eating anything, I think I'm the person least qualified to judge him on that, aren't I?"

After speaking, Moon Knight ignored Khonshu's nagging and stepped firmly into the portal.

Clearly, between Ryan and Khonshu, Moon Knight chose to believe in Ryan.

Just as Ryan said, this World had no other choice but to believe in that singular hope...

With one step, the two had arrived at a desert region bordering the sea.

Beside them stood a green sign with white text that read: [Maritime City, New Orleans Checkpoint].

Not far ahead of them was a massive human camp enclosed by shipping containers.

Clearly, this was the entrance to the sea Base founded by Baron Zemo that Zombie Wanda had mentioned.

Survivors would pass through inspection here and hand over enough supplies before they could enter the actual sea Base.

And while that actual sea Base was currently submerged, Ryan's sharp eyes could still make out its basic outline.

It was a massive, oval-shaped mobile fortress made of metal.

If he remembered correctly, this should be the sea prison used to house superhuman criminals that General Ross controlled during the Civil War!

To think that in the zombie apocalypse, Baron Zemo had actually gotten his hands on it and was using it as a maritime shelter; he certainly had some tricks up his sleeve.

Just as Ryan intended to take Moon Knight inside to see what was going on, Ryan suddenly looked back at the endless desert behind him, his brow furrowing.

Because his Spider-Sense had detected a familiar aura.

"What is it? Zombies?" Moon Knight, who couldn't sense anything from such a distance, looked at the desert that didn't have a single zombie in sight, feeling somewhat confused.

The zombies in this vicinity should have already been cleared out by Baron Zemo's people; logically, it should be safe.

Ryan shook his head, his expression turning to one of disgust. "No, these things are much more revolting than zombies. I didn't expect that even in a zombie apocalypse, these parasites from beyond Earth still haven't died out!"

"Parasites from beyond Earth?" Just as Moon Knight raised this question, Ryan grabbed him by the back of his collar.

Next, Moon Knight felt himself flying, the scenery in his eyes shifting rapidly at high speed.

By the time the images in his eyes stabilized again, Ryan had brought him to the air above another area.

In the desert below, an intense chase was taking place.

Running in the lead were a Lamborghini Aventador, a Jeep, and a truck loaded with cargo.

And chasing behind them were Skrulls riding motorcycles and driving wasteland-style war rigs similar to those in Mad Max!

That's right—in this zombie apocalypse, these Skrulls hadn't died out; instead, they were living even better than before!

They no longer needed to hide by disguising themselves as humans; they were now openly robbing humans in their true forms!

Looking down at this scene from the air, Ryan couldn't help but sneer. If only the Captain Marvel of this Universe hadn't turned into a zombie.

He really wanted that traitorous bitch to see that these were the Skrulls she had rescued from all over the Universe, and to see what they were doing to her own fellow humans on Earth!
