Donovan was such a moody person.
Zoe Rhodes was once again certain of it.
One moment he was all smiles with her, and the next, he'd turn hostile without any warning.
'What a mean, classless man!'
Zoe Rhodes stared daggers at the figure walking ahead of her, silently cursing him in her heart to never find a wife in this lifetime.
The moment she finished her curse, Zoe Rhodes felt a twinge of regret. 'Maybe that wasn't very nice.'
Even though she had no idea what had gotten into him, he had, at the very least, helped her solve a major problem.
She was just about to negotiate with God, asking if He could spare Donovan on account of her childish outburst and not let him die old and alone.
Zoe Rhodes's eyes were filled with piety. Before she could even begin her prayer, she suddenly heard the man in front of her call out, his voice dripping with impatience:
"Can you move those short legs any faster?"
"I could stick two toothpicks in a potato and it would walk faster than you!"
