Meanwhile, Zoe Rhodes came out of the shop holding two ice cream cones.
On a chair by the entrance, Linda Sullivan was sitting there dejectedly, staring blankly at the ground.
Zoe Rhodes walked over and squatted down, holding both ice cream cones up to her.
Linda Sullivan was taken aback. She looked up into Zoe's clean, beautiful eyes, which curved into crescents as she smiled. For a moment, she was in a daze.
"This one's strawberry, and this is pistachio. Which flavor do you want?"
Seeing her hesitate, Zoe Rhodes thought for a moment before adding, "How about the pistachio? I think it's a limited edition. Or you can try a bit of both if you want!"
A tremor ran through Linda Sullivan's vacant gaze. After a long moment, she took one of the cones with a trembling hand. "Th-thank you."
Zoe Rhodes faced the sun, her smile like melting sunshine that cast a warm glow. "You're welcome!"
