After watching Zoe Rhodes enter the school gate, Alan turned to look at the back seat and said, "Mr. Bennett, shall we head back now?"
"Yes."
In the back seat, the man leaned back into his chair, taking off his glasses with one hand and placing them on the small tray table in front of him.
Alan noticed the hint of a smile still lingering in his eyes. In other words, Nathan Bennett was in a good mood.
"I just confirmed that the call Miss Rhodes received was indeed from Porten. It was Mr. Julian. I expect Miss Rhodes will be breaking up with Mr. Hawthorne soon."
"Oh, right. I heard Mr. Hawthorne and Mr. Donovan have been getting close lately. Do you think we should..."
"Pay them no mind." Nathan Bennett couldn't care less about those two. "Whether they cooperate behind the scenes or harbor their own ulterior motives, it doesn't matter."
"If they had any chance of winning on their own, they wouldn't be working together."
"Therefore, they pose no threat."
