Joyce Monroe was feeling uninspired tonight, so after putting away her sketchbook, she went back to her room to rest. Before bed, she scrolled through the news and was surprised to see that Silas Thorne's supposed old flame from years ago had posted a clarification:
[My cousin is an acquaintance of Mr. Silas Thorne. Years ago, he was simply asked a favor to look after me for a bit. There has never been anything romantic between us. I ask you all to please stop spreading these false rumors. This not only harms Mr. Thorne's reputation but has also caused a great deal of distress for me and my family.]
In addition to the text, she also posted a picture of her marriage certificate and a family photo with her husband and child.
The key information was redacted.
Joyce Monroe froze for a moment.
'So she really wasn't his old flame?'
Besides, her kid looked old enough to run errands; she had probably been married for a long time.
