Joyce Monroe looked at the marriage certificate, then at Silas Thorne. "You put the marriage certificate in a protective sleeve?"
"Your copy is with me too. I was worried that if you asked for it one day and found it damaged, you'd be upset."
As Silas Thorne finished speaking, Quentin Walsh almost burst out laughing.
'My dear Second Master,'
'How did I never realize you were such a natural at spouting nonsense!'
"Weren't you on a business trip abroad? What are you doing here?" Joyce Monroe asked.
"You said you wanted to go public. I was thinking about the best way to tell everyone we're married, and after mulling it over, I decided doing it in person was the safest bet."
Silas Thorne had been waiting for this day for a long time. A simple announcement on social media wouldn't have been enough for him.
He wanted to stand right beside Joyce Monroe and proclaim to the entire world:
We're married!
