"Watch out!" Jonathan Thorne's warning was directed at the boisterous group of young people, and as he spoke, Zoe Monroe could clearly see the slight tremor of his Adam's apple.
His very presence was intensely commanding, enough to make anyone lose their composure. Zoe Monroe could only keep reminding herself:
'Calm down. Stay composed.'
"Excuse me, miss, I'm so sorry," one of the young men apologized to her.
Once the group had left, Jonathan Thorne naturally released his arm from around her. "You didn't get knocked into?"
"No." Zoe Monroe's face was already flushed. After being held snugly in his arms for a moment, it was now an unbelievable shade of red. Paired with her foxy eyes, she was captivating even when her expression was cold.
"That's good."
Jonathan Thorne's tone was calm, as if she had been the only one flustered just now. Zoe Monroe clutched the small cat figurine in her hand, forcing herself to calm down.
