"What were you doing in there? Why did it take you so long to open the door? Did something hold you up?"
"Don't just block the doorway. Let me in. I'm not here about anything. Are you being wary of me?"
Blair White stared intently at her best friend, suspicion practically written all over her face.
Megan Kane shook her head helplessly. She really didn't want to tell her best friend the truth. After all, there was nothing more to say about the situation right now.
Besides, it wasn't something she had the power to resolve on her own.
And gathering evidence takes time. It wasn't as simple as her saying a few words to make the truth come to light. It wasn't that simple.
The matter was complicated, and on top of that, it was truly difficult to figure out where to even begin to solve it.
She had no idea what the final outcome would be.
So she was stuck here, caught in a dilemma, unable to think of a better solution.
