Contrary to expectations, the silver needle didn't inflict any horrific damage when it struck the monster.
But soon after, it was as if the doppelganger's vital point had been struck. Its frenzied attacks screeched to a halt, and its once-terrifying aura began to wane. In the space of a few breaths, the monster's massive body shrank several sizes, like a deflating balloon.
Sensing the changes within itself, the monster doppelganger was bewildered, its eyes burning with rage.
"Damn it, what did you do to me?!" the monster roared.
The Thief Master and the experts from the five great sects were also startled by the monster's transformation. They had assumed it was about to change into an even stronger form, but instead, its aura had inexplicably weakened by a great deal.
With no time to celebrate, the six experts quickly joined forces and launched an all-out assault!
