Amelia Lockhart glanced at the small red ball she had taken from the balloon. She gave it a firm twist with both hands, and the ball opened.
A slip of paper lay quietly inside.
"She actually won!" Iris Yates found it incredible that the one and only note was really hidden in that balloon.
The director said with a beaming smile, "Ms. Lockhart can choose whether or not to share the contents of the note with everyone."
Amelia Lockhart immediately smiled. "Of course I'll share. If I didn't, wouldn't people just suspect me of trying to destroy the evidence?"
Amelia Lockhart would never shoot herself in the foot like that. She immediately unfolded the note for all to see, and everyone leaned in for a look.
"Fragrant?"
On the large note was just a single word.
"'Fragrance?'" Rhett Reynolds mused. "Is this hinting that the mystery person is one of the women? After all, the word 'fragrant' is usually associated with women."
