Famished, his stomach growling, Tang Wen climbed out of the secret underground chamber.
At the entrance to the courtyard, he saw a three-tiered food box.
It was two in the afternoon, two hours past lunchtime, and the food was a bit cold.
Opening the food box, he found it packed with meat—several pounds of it—while the vegetarian dishes were pitifully few.
Looking around, he only saw a single plate of pickled cucumbers.
