"I'm so grateful for this gentleman's help today. Otherwise, I would have been a real problem for you." Millie Sanders said with her head lowered, then couldn't resist looking at Phoebe Faulkner and asking tentatively, "Phoebe, this gentleman... is he...?"
"He's my..." Just as Phoebe Faulkner was wondering how to introduce her relationship with Jace Lennox, he strode to her side, wrapped an arm around her waist, and announced with a cold expression, "I'm her man."
"You've seen her. If there's nothing else, please leave!" Jace Lennox said, directly telling her to get out.
He had a low opinion of all women, especially those around Phoebe Faulkner.
Phoebe Faulkner knew Jace Lennox's temper, so she turned to Millie Sanders. "Millie, don't you have to work? You should probably get going. We can catch up some other time."
As she spoke, Phoebe Faulkner pulled a business card out of her pocket. "Here, take this. You can go see this Dr. Whitecoat and have him take a look at your injury."
