Jace Lennox had spent the last few days with Phoebe Faulkner. Even though he'd handled some work from home, a lot had piled up. With an urgent email needing his attention today, there was no way he could leave early.
'Stay here?'
Of course, Phoebe didn't want to.
"How about I go home and wait for you?" Phoebe said.
"Alright. Finn just got back. I'll have him drive you home." Jace picked up his phone and called Finn. After hanging up, he looked at Phoebe. "Stay home, and don't go wandering off. Also, don't worry about coming into work for now. Your only job is to stay home and prepare for the design competition."
Firing the entire design department hadn't been a rash decision made in a fit of anger. Jace simply wanted to ensure that when Phoebe returned, she would have a better environment, one where she wouldn't be the subject of gossip.
And as for what happened today, no outsiders would ever know the real reason why.
'Don't come into work anymore?'
