Then, she shook her head.
As time passed, her body's reactions became more pronounced. She often felt nauseous and would dry heave.
As the sensation grew clearer, she found herself facing a choice.
"You..." Ronan Langdon started, looking at how pale Phoebe Faulkner was. He didn't know how to comfort her. The doctor he'd arranged for Lionel Faulkner hadn't arrived, and when he'd suggested a walk to clear her head, she had refused to go out.
Phoebe Faulkner saw the worry in Ronan Langdon's eyes. She stood up and smiled faintly. "My brother will be waking up soon. I'm going to head upstairs."
Seeing Phoebe Faulkner in such a state, Ronan Langdon, for the first time, felt the urge to beat Jace Lennox up.
