Only when she could clearly see the person before her did Yara Quillan let out a small sigh of relief. She rubbed her eyes and climbed out of bed. "Henry Lester, you're back?"
"Have you had dinner?" Henry Lester sat down beside Yara Quillan, reaching out to smooth her messy hair.
"I have. Henry, you...?"
"Hm?"
"Have you eaten?" Yara had actually wanted to ask Henry where he'd been for the past day and night, but she felt it would be awkward, so she changed the subject instead.
"I haven't," Henry Lester answered honestly. He watched as she looked him up and down, asking in surprise, "You haven't eaten?"
"I was planning on eating when I got back, but I didn't realize you wouldn't have anything prepared for me, sweetheart."
"..." Yara Quillan lowered her gaze, embarrassed. 'I didn't think he'd even be back tonight.' At that thought, she bolted off the bed.
