She set down their things and sat nearby, watching Henry Lester start a fire for their cookout.
She watched him quietly, this busy, focused, and earnest man. The sunlight illuminated his profile, highlighting his handsome, chiseled features. The longer she watched, the more she felt an air of mature charm emanating from him.
As if sensing her gaze, Henry Lester turned around, his eyes meeting Yara Quillan's. Her dark, bright eyes had been sizing him up.
Henry Lester smiled at her. Yara Quillan's face immediately felt scorching hot, and she quickly turned away, feigning nonchalance.
"Sweetheart, bring those things next to you over here."
"Oh," Yara Quillan replied. She picked up the nearby bag of chicken wings, meat, and vegetables and walked over.
Henry Lester got the fire going and began skewering the food. Seeing this, Yara Quillan pouted. 'It wouldn't be right to just eat and not do any work,' she thought, so she started helping out as well.
