"Honey, I'm sorry." Henry Lester held Yara Quillan, murmuring self-reproachfully into her ear.
Yara Quillan wanted to pull away from his embrace, but her legs had gone soft…
"Let go of me. I'm fine now," Yara Quillan said stubbornly.
At her words, Henry Lester loosened his grip. He didn't know why Yara was so terrified, but he thought of what might have happened if his earlier actions had hurt Yara, or if something had happened to the baby in her womb.
'Then even killing myself wouldn't be enough to atone for it.'
The moment Henry Lester let go, Yara Quillan's legs gave out, and she nearly fell to the ground. Luckily, Henry's quick reflexes allowed him to catch her in time.
"Don't look at me like that. My legs are just a little weak." Staring back at Henry Lester, Yara Quillan bit her lip and used his arm to steady herself.
